I dont know for you what you can do but i would be talking to the nutritionalist for sure.........I had lapband surgery and for 2 months I have been at a stand still.........but i know why for the most part........I need to excercise more regulary, get more proteins in, stay away from carbs so much and........drink more water.......I was drinking a ton of tea with splenda and My doctors assistant told me to back off the splenda and any artificial sweeteners.........push the straigh****er this month and see what happens..........SO im encouraged and trust me, IT definetely helps to talk to your doctor or the nutrionalists at your doctors office ................................plus there are alot of great people on this board who can advise you much better than  I :) was just giving my personal experiences

Stick to the basics - PEW! (Protein, exercise, and water!) Do what you can on each of those fronts. 3 weeks isn't forever to get stuck at a weight. We have all gotten stuck at various places in our journeys. You can do this. Keep up the good work!

Just stick to the amount you are suppose to eat and dont get back into your old habit of over eating.  Just like Linda said, protein, exercise & water.  Everyone hits stalls.  I would try that and if you havent lost anything by your 6 mos. I would definetly be talking to your nut.

I agree with everyone here but you say something else that sent up a red flag to me..feeling like you can eat to sun up and sun down..do you really think you are eating more than you should be able to..or just feel like it? Are you keeping a food journal? I know ..boring tedious stuff..but if you really want to find out what's happening with yourself..you gotta do the journal..keep it simple..a little notebook..write everything going into your mouth..and how much!

Also..are you eating and drinking at the same time? That could be the root of your not feeling full..you drink and eat together..the water flushes that food right out of your pouch..like as Ruthann said..a toliet flushing!.Swirling it right out..

That is my advice..hope it helps..and please remember anything that sounds like it might be harsh..wasn't intended to be at all..just want you to succeed and feel proud of yourself!

Marie, I had asked what type of surgery in case it was the lapband...and time for a fill. Since it was the RNY, I can relate much better. Have you been measuring yourself? Do, and do on a weekly basis. Often when we are gaining muscle, we are losing fat but aren't losing pounds. When you measure is when you will see the difference. Muscle mass is much more dence than fat is. You know the old joke 'what weighs more...a pound of brick or a pound of feather...? Of course, we all know that 1 pound equals 1 pound...but...a pound of feather takes up more space than a pound of brick just as fat takes up more space than muscle. Soooo.....continue to get in +60 g of protein, +64 oz of water (the more, the better!), and exercise. You may want to swich up your exercise sometimes. If all you do is walk, go into a spare room, put on your headphones, and practice your old dance moves from high school for an hour or so. Do this on alternate days from walking. You'll be surprised on how well it works to get other muscles involved in your daily workout. And notice...I chose something that most of us would find ENJOYABLE. That, I believe, is the key to sucessful exercise. You have to enjoy it or you won't continue to do it. Of course, it never hurts to measure your food & keep a journal. SparkPeople.com is an excellent place for that. I'm just not so sure you are doing ANYTHING wrong though hon!!! Please, measure..and then let us know how it goes...ok? Sherri
