Hello. Today is the day we take Mikey down to Jeffersonville, to Wellstone hospital there. Please keep up in your prayers that it goes well. We told him last night, and he actually took it better than to be expected. I think he knew it might be coming. I myself, am doing some better today. Thanks for all the thoughts and well wishing on my last post about feeling low.

Good morning everyone! Wow, what a busy day yesterday was!! Today, I only have my follow-up with my endocrinologist..so just seeing if my synthroid dose will change again or not. Unfortunately, that appointment is at 9:30 so gotta get it in gear soon & get ready for it. I got great news when I stepped on the scale this morning! 3 pounds finally went away!!!! I hope that means that the other 12 will follow it their path quickly! Depending on which doctor, we were told yesterday that it could take 2-6 weeks to get rid of all the pounds & the swelling so it was a huge relief to see the pounds finally start to go.  Dr. Gupta did put me on some stronger pain pills and an anti-inflamatory. I slept lousy last night...but I think it was between my brain not use to NOT having pain and also, I slept on the couch instead of the recliner. Tonight, I should sleep good (provided I don't take a nice long nap this afternoon...lol). It got to the point of me having horrible pain when I would try to stand up off the recliner so now I'm avoiding it and sticking to the couch. I can get off of there...even from a laying down position..with far less pain. I do still have my drain tube. The output is still ~twice as much as what's wanted. Dr. Gupta's nurse can remove it without an appointment after I have a few days of it being less than 30 mL per day.  I go back in to see Dr. Bergman the 19th..so if it happens to be close to that, I'll probably just ask her to remove it (with Dr. Gupta's ok of course). Both docs said the incision line looked good. There's a few places that is draining but it's not infected so I'm just to continue showering with anti-bacterial soap (I've been doing that since September anyway), allowing it to dry good, and then cover it up with a dry gauze before putting the dang binder back on. My tummy does feel better with the binder on, but man, it itches! I think I'm going to try putting a tank top on between it & my skin and see if that helps some. Bill has been an absolute sweetheart. Now that he realizes just how much was done to my insides and understands that it is a very painful thing, he has been all I needed him to be. I think it REALLY sunk it with the pain when Dr. Gupta told me to let her know if these meds weren't taking care of it. I asked him to not tell his mom about the meds change and he agreed that she needn't know. I really do think he is regretting ever telling her anything about his concerns about me getting dependent on anything. Really, after 16 surgeries since 2002, NOW, I'd have problems with that?? Anyway..he is forgiven. Gail...Sweetie, as always, wonderful talking with you yesterday. Brenda, it was good talking with you too. I'm just sorry that by that time, my pain meds were starting to wear off. I need to give you a call one of these evenings right after it kicks in Thank you all for your continued prayers..... Good morning all! Actually it isnt the best morning.  I had a last minute call in for 3rd shift last night and couldnt find anyone else to come in so guess who gets to do it....me.  I worked my regular 7a-5p and then someone coming in on 2nd shift called said he got held up at work and would be a little late, little late turned into 3 hours late. So I left work last night about 8:15 pm and on my way home the 3rd shift person called and said she couldnt come in.  So I hard to turn around and come back in at 11p and wor****il 5p.   Managing volunteers is the most difficult thing I have had to do.  They dont get paid, so you really can make them come in.  I have 3 paid staff members and about 30 volunteers.  Sometimes I would like to ring their necks.  Oh well, guess it will be to bed early for me tonight.  At least I got to sleep some on my 11p-7a shift cause we didnt get any calls, but I cant sleep up here, its just not my bed.  Well thanks for letting me vent.   Nothing else going on today  I didnt do well on my fluids or eating yesterday.  I was so busy with calls.  I got about a couple spoonfuls of tuna salad and about 4 crackers for lunch and 1/2 can of bean soup last night and this is the bad part, I only drank about 20 oz of fluid yesterday...yikes!  I will definetly be drinking today. Linda my prayers go out to you today.  Vicki I hope you get that grand baby real soon. Dont spoil it to much.

Good Morning All, Not a lot going on with me today.  All of my deadlines were pushed back to the 17th  (they were originally the 13th), so I actually have it a little easier now.  Still plenty to do today, but not as much of a rush. Linda,  I'm glad to hear that Mikey took the news better than you thought he would.  Maybe that is a good sign that he is ready to make the most of this opportunity.  I hope today goes well for all of you. Sherri,  It sounds like you got fairly good news yesterday  (no infections & better meds! )  I'll give you a call later today to see how you are getting along. Well, hope everyone has a great day.
