after you got your approval, how long did it take to get your surgery date?

I was approved in December, just before Christmas. My surgery date was given to me the second week  in January. My surgery date is April 30th. For some reason I had an extremely long wait. I hope that you have better luck. I seem to remember that someone recently posted that she was approved the first part of February and her surgery date is scheduled, I think, two weeks BEFORE my date...I don't quite get how they do their scheduling. Anyway, Dr. Inman is a great surgeon and is definitely worth any wait you may have. Good luck!

Hey there Heidi :)  Congrats again on the approval!!!! I'm gonna say that you will probably have surgery around July.  Dr. Inman only does 1-2 DS surgeries a week, and the same amount for Medicare/Medicaid patients.  It is an annoying wait..  I know!  I was all set for surgery in December 2007, but my date wasn't until May! It sucks, but it is soooooo worth it.  The time will fly by!  You could always be rescheduled too!  I was!  They called me out of the blue and asked me if I could have it 2 weeks earlier, due to a cancellation.  Apparently, that happens a lot :)  Let me know if you ever want to get together and talk..  I'm here for ya!! Hugs!

I got approved in the end of September, and had surgery in mid-November. It was about 6 weeks.

It took me about 2 weeks for the surgery date.  I did ask Colleen about why some of us have to wait so long, and others get approved later, but get earlier surgery dates.....She said that the BMI and type of surgery have a lot to do with the surgery date.  The higher your BMI the longer the weight.   If you have a higher BMI, then your surgery will require an addition surgeon and other staff.  So, condination of everyones schedule is a little more difficult than someone who has a lower BMI, and only requires Dr. Inman Best of luck!
