Looking for NICE GP
Hello,
I am somewhat new to this forum...
I am looking for a General Practitioner/Family Doctor in the Indianapolis area, preferably one that is interested in helping people with WLS. I don't want to go to a doctor that isn't sympathetic to obesity and the problems that it causes... believe me I have been to a few of them in my day!!! I don't want to go and be told... you need to go on a diet.. you need to do this... you need to do that.... Been there done that!!!! I have found that my insurance will cover any specialist if it is medical necessity and my GP recommends. I am assuming I would be recommended... I am 5ft and almost 300 lbs!!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!
Hi Billy,
I am not sure what part of Indy you are from. My PCP is Dr. Pamela Lynch in Mooresville. I LOVE HER!!!! She is awesome. She is very busy all the time but she is the sweetest person. My last 6 month diet appt. We gave each other a big hug. In october I was 284 pounds at 5 '3". I am currently 230 and awaiting Insurance approval for surgery. I highly recommend her. She has been my pcp for 4 years. She cares for her patients and Listens!! She is also a OB and pediatrician. Good luck and welcome to OH. SHanna
HIGHEST 300 POUNDS!
Sept 07...284lbs.
surgery day 4/16/08...223lbs.
11 months Later...133lbs.
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS 167lbs.
I MY RNY!
i'm actually thinking of changing my pcp for that reason. when your obgyn doctor is more excited for your wls surgery than your primary doctor, i believe it's time to change doctors. well, that and this stupid upper respiratory infection that he won't give me a second antibiotic for. doxicycline, a day of iv ampicillin, and a 3 day hospital stay didn't kill it, and i don't want it when i go into surgery in 13 (woohoo!) days. so if anyone has a good doctor in lafayette to suggest, i'd love to hear it.
