WHAT TO DO
WELL I WENT AND THE DR. WAS OUT OF THE STATES SO I SAW THE NURSE AND THEY ORDERED LABS. SHE TOLD ME THAT MY LEVELS WERE LOWER THAN WHAT SHE DEALS WITH
AND ASKED ME TO SEE HER FATHER AT A HEALTH AND VIT CLINIC. HE WOULD KNOW MORE THAN SHE WOULD, BUT THEN SHE SAID MY INSURANCE WOULD NOT COVER HIS TYPE OF WORK??????
SO I THINK I WILL GET A COPY OF MY LABS AND JUST CHECK OUT MY LEVELS MYSELF AND TAKE THE WLS PEOPLES ADVICE AND TRY TO FIND A WAY TO SOLVE THIS .
THE NURSE DID TELL ME I WAS NOT OBSORBING ANY OF MY VIT THAT I WAS TAKING ALL THE WRONG KIND
BUT I HAD MY FAMILY DR TELL ME WHAT TO GET AND WHAT BRAND. I GUESS I AM CONFUSED
I WILL JUST STOPPED TAKEING ANY UNTILL I FIND OUT WHAT ONES ARE THE RIGHT.
I agree that you need to contact your nutritionist for her advice. I would not see the "father." Actually that was very unprofessional and unethical of her to suggest such a thing. Please don't stop taking vitamins. You need them. However your PCP may not be aware or up to speed on what a WLS pt needs in regards to vitamins. I get my vitamins from BariatricEating.com. They are specifically formulated for WLS patients and they are the best tasting that I have tried. They cost about $35.00 or so a month but are well worth their price. I take the Bariatric Multi(has B vitamins in it), Calcium, B12 and Iron. I also take Biotin from the local health food store. Remember we do not absorb our nutrients from food if you have had the RNY and therefore must take vitamins for the rest of our lives. It is crucial that someone address your poor lab results.
Best wishes,
Peg
