That is so great..my daughter Tiffany got her letter today from blue cross saying it will be paid for up to six months from march 7th 2008 .so I called lavern and she said she called them and they said she had not been approved yet..so she was going to call again to check on that letter...I gave her all the numbers....Tiffany wants to maybe wait till may for we go on vacation then and she wants to eat .I told her to make sure for mattar is doing two weeks out...girl you will be on your way soon....

We plan on going to Florida on May 2d for a week...Her letter says We have determined that the BARIATRIC -GASTRIC-BY-PASS SURGERY is a covered service..payment is guaraeed for six months from the date of this letter.....The letter is dated March 7th 2008 she wants to eat out in florida...

Ohhh I see. Well good luck to Tiffany. I would love to have mine done by the first of may. I actually really need it done by the first of May. I got the dates from nancy on Dr. Mattars vacations. Yeah It would def. be hit or miss on scheduling in April but is doable. Shanna

Congratulation. I'm so happy for you!! Do you have other things wrong also? Asking because I was denied today because my BMI is 39.43 and I have no co-morbities. Appealing and scheduling a sleep study. Good luck to you. THanks

I got approved on Monday for lap band with United Healthcare and I'm so excited. I was really worried too, because no co-morbidities but I have been going to a bariatric clinic for 5 months, had lots of labs, EKG, Chest Xray, Sleep Study, and EGD, along with monthly md visit, dietician visit, and social worker. Also was required to take 2 behavior modification classes and a fitness evaluation. Good luck on your appeal.
