I can't say with this psecific doc but the only shot I have heard of anyone getting post op at home is the B12 shot. My Mom gives them to me at the end of every month.
Yes, you have to give yourself lovenox shots, post op, for a short while, to help prevent clots. They show you how to do this and give you a kit at the class. It's not difficult, and not painful.

I had to take the Lovenox shots for about 1 week after I got home. Also Dr. Inman prescribed once monthly B-12 shots for me. They are easy to do and not painful at all! I give them to myself in my thigh. Judy
My Dr. had me do Arixtra shots for 10 days after I got home. They aren't painful, just getting the nerves up to give yourself the shot is the hard part.
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

Lol,... I'm a bit of a chicken. I get my B12 shots from my family doctor's office once a month. It's far cheaper to do it at home, if you are on a budget, but my insurance covers them for me at the doctor's office, so I just go ahead and do it there.
