Wow did I get a surprise this weekend!  I got a package from someone who is claiming to be my "new" secret elf since mine hasn't surfaced yet.  It was such a nice surprise.  I got something for January, February and March!  I had to hand over the ice cream stickers to my daughter though.  She took one look and said they looked more like something she should have.  Little smarty pants!  Anyway, I tried to post a thank you this weekend but either the site didn't like me or something was wrong.  I couldn't post anything after Saturday morning. Well that was very nice of them.  I still havent gotten anything.

I have been seeing where more & more people are saying 'I haven't gotten anything'. This is exactly why the draw is only going to be 6 months instead of 12. It is also why many people opted not to even participate this year. I think that's pretty sad. We're all adults. If we are going to say we want to participate then we should be responsible enough to do it properly! If you have not recieved anything, please drop me an email. I will be sending these people a note and giving them an opportunity to make up for their oversight. If I don't recieve a reply though, I will be sending out notes to those who drew their names and ask them to start being the elf for the ones who have recieved nothing. It's the only fair thing I can think of to do. It certainly isn't fair for these folks to continue to get cards and gifts when they don't even want to send their person an ecard! For the draw in July, you MUST be on the Hoosier Directory to get an invitation to participate AND if you were...for want of a better phrase...a delinquent secret elf, you will not be invited to participate. This really could be alot of fun...but not when people are left out..nor when I'm made to feel like I need to police the program. So..you wanted to participate, you clicked on the link and said 'yes'. Either do it properly or send me a note requesting to bow out of it. You don't have to explain why, just request that you be removed from the program..ok? ....And if you haven't recieved anything, let me know..ok? Drop me an email though, not here..k? Sherri

how do i do it?

I will be sending out the link for the next draw in June, with the draw being the first week of July. Only those who are on the Hoosier Directory will recieve the link (so send Floyd a note & be sure to get on the directory between now & June!)..and if someone has a lousy track record for being a decent secret elf, they will not be asked to particiapate and will not recieve the link. Before hitting that link and saying 'yes', each person should be fully prepared to do the best job they can for their person. At a MINIMUM, that means sending their person something (small gift, ecard, card, letter) on a monthly basis. This does not have to be an expensive endeavor..in fact, I had paid for an ecard service for all secret elfsters to use so to do the absolute minimum, can be done for free (although..the person should not just recieve only ecards during the whole time you have their name). It a person thinks that using 5 minutes a month to prepare an ecard for their person is too expensive of a price to pay, then they really have no business participating in something like this because it is completly about showing that you care about someone else! Sure..there are times when someone may not be ablt to do as they'd like. An example would be me...I had major hernia surgery March 3rd. It's going to be a few more weeks before I can drive or do much of anything so my person is going to have to wait until April to get their Easter 'surprise'. That's understandable..but here it is March 18th and there are some people who have not recieved anything at all (and the draw started the beginning of January). That is NOT understandable, nor is it acceptable. So..this can really be alot of fun. It was very special to me to wake up from a nap in the hospital with a stuffed kitten & a get well balloon from my Secret Elf. But...it can also be very disappointing and you can feel like your elf just doesn't care when you get nothing at all.  Sherri

I just wanted to stop by the INDIANA forum and say HI. I have not been here before (why I do not know). I plan on stoping over more to see how ALL of you are doing. hugs,
