Vertigo..so dizzy!

Hi..I've been having problems with being really dizzy. I even went to my PCP about it and we tried out a medication for it ..advert or something like that..a med basically for motion sickness. It kind of helped but not really plus I'd rather find the source of the dizziness rather than just putting a "band aid" on it.

Today I'm making an appt with an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist. I've been told by a few that I'll probably be tested for Meannier's disease among other things. I've already been tested in the PCP's office for fluid in my ears...none there..also a simple test in the dr's office involving my blood pressure which checked out fine.

I'm feeling a little anxious because I do have a tiny bit of a problem hearing people..especially mumblers..I find myself staring at people's lips as they talk to me as if I am trying to read their lips! This is so vain I know..and I could have worse things to worry about..but I'm worrying that I might need a hearing aid etc..again..I know it is vain of me to worry about this but I am.

Hello again..let's see..I've had lab work done to see if low blood sugar is a problem..nope ..it's fine. My labs did come back saying I need to work on getting more zinc in my diet but not believed to be the source of my dizziness..

Making my appt today at the ENT...in fact on phone now holding to do it. Okay..done! March 26th at 9:40 am...it's a start..

Hi Kathleen, I had a problem with sever dizziness once and my PCP diagnosed me with Acute Labrynthitis (sp?).  She said that although they are not exactly sure of the cause, it is believed to be an infection in some part of the ear that they cannot get medication to and it has 3 outcomes:   You have it once, it goes away and never comes back.  Or it reoccurs periodically.  OR it never goes away and you deal with the dizziness for the rest of your life!  In my situation, it reoccurs periodically.  It has never come back as bad as it was the first time and doesn't last as long (the first time I was dizzy for several days, so much so that I would fall against the wall when I was trying to walk down the hallway).  Now it just happens sometimes when I get up from laying down or if I turn my head too fast.   I hope you get a better (read fixable) answer.  My situation isn't unbearable, but I'd just as soon not get dizzy at all, thank you very much!    I'm blond after all and I don't need anymore excuses that that!   Good luck with the ENT.

Kathleen, I hope you find some answers really soon.  My best friend is going through the same thing.  She's had the tests run and we're waiting for the answers.  If it is Meannier's, caffiene aggravates it.  My buddy has cut out caffiene and has found some relief.  I'll let you know what she finds out and you please keep us posted!

Let's see you are Blonde!   Dizzy? Just kidding.  Will be praying for discernment from both the PCP and any other health care giver. Bless you E

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
