Does Dr. Inman require gyn report?

I have conflicting information regarding Dr. Inman's requirements for pre-op testing. I am scheduled to go to St. Vincent's for my pre-op testing and my physical on April 7th and my surgery is on April 30th. I have been waiting since December, so I am determined that nothing will keep me from having this surgery on my scheduled date! However, I recently read a post somewhere that Dr. Inman requires a recent pap and mammogram...please, don't beat me up here, I know that I need to do this anyway...but I was never told that this was a requirement. My problem is that I don't have enough time now to get this scheduled and the results back in time for my surgery date. Grrrrrrrr! Can anyone tell me if this information is correct?

Not positive but I know for a fact that Dr. Evanson (her partner) requires a pap in the last year and a mammogram if you are over 35 yrs (maybe 40 yrs). I didn't have to do the mammo but I did have my gyno office fax my last pap results over. Your PCP can do a pap...Dr. Brooks if she is doing your pre-op work can probably do your pap if she is willing.  Most general practicioners can if they choose to.

I was afraid of that! Great suggestion on Dr. Brooks though. I will definitely ask her when I see her. Maybe if I schedule a mammogram that will be enough to satisfy them. Thank you!

Unless something has changed recently, she did not require a PAP and mammogram before she did my revision to the DS last October.  Call her office and speak with Colleen or Karen and they can tell you for sure.  But I'm pretty sure she doesn't require that.

Thank you for your response. I guess that you are right...the best thing for me to do at this point is to phone her office and just lay all my cards on the table. I really hope that she will not require this to be done before my surgery. I will definitely schedule it for sometime after but I just am so stressed out right now that I don't think I could handle a setback now. Thanks again.

I have her partner, Dr Evanson. I got some paperwork prior to my pre op testing that asked if I had, had a pap or mammo in the last year. I then called and asked if that was a requirement. The lady I spoke to said that it wouldnt stop my surgery but they like the info if I have it. My surgery is Friday morning and I havent had anyone ask me for any proof. I was mainly asking because I too feared that I wouldnt be able to get it all scheduled and the results back. I went ahead and tried and got in right away. They told me at the hospital right after my mammo that it was fine and I got my pap results in 9 days. So if I get there Fri morning and they say they have to have that I suppose they can call my GYN and get the results. I dont know, but I am assuming Dr Inman/Evanson do things pretty much the same.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery! I am thinking that I will attempt to at least schedule and appointment with my gyn and see how quickly I can get this done. You are right, they probably have the same requirements and I just don't want to take a chance of having my date postponed. One thing is certain though, by the time I have my surgery I will have been thoroughly checked out and should know everything I could ever want to know about my health status.  Thanks again. I'll be thinking about you Friday and praying for an uneventful and successful surgery for you.

I have said the same thing about everything being checked out. I am pretty sure the only thing that hasnt been checked on this body is my toes! Thanks for the well wishes and good luck to you too!

I had heard I needed one, too. I have Dr. Mattar and was due for and exam and wanted to get the Mirena IUD anyway so I went ahead and scheduled one right away so I would have it done. Shanna

in the paperwork i got from dr inman in january it says that you need a pap result from within the last year and a recent mammogram if you are over 40. i am in the scheduling stage and no one has asked me if i have this verification. best of luck!
