I keep forgetting to ask my Dr. - what kind of OTC meds can we take ?  I was always a ibuprofen type of person before, but my understanding now is that isn't safe.  I'm almost 4 weeks out from laprascopic RNY - do I try tylenol?  if so, regular or childrens? what about the sugar in the liquid? Any insight GREATLY appreciated!! Lori

I take Tylenol Rapid Release or Tylenol Liquid.  Since you're only 4 weeks out, I would do the liquid Tylenol.   The Dr's don't want you to do ibuprofen because it can cause ulcers. Hope this helps Robin
I always said "pigs would fly" before they approved my surgery.  Guess what??? The pigs are flying!!!!

I take the Tylenol Rapid Release Liquid and it works really well. It doesn't taste to bad either. It has a bit of a cherry flavor. It seems to work faster too and so I am keeping with it. Hope you feel better.

I also take Tylenol liquid. With being such a new post op it may be uncomfortable though because sometimes it still feels like it sets my pouch on fire. It burns much like the Liquid Lortab they gave me to come home on.

I took the tylenol rapid release liquid but the sugar was tooooooooo much for me...so now I take extra strength caplets and I cut them in half.
