Hi Everyone,  My surgery on thursday 3/20 went well with Dr. Huse. SO far SO Good. I came home Sat. noon and the new journey begins. It's been overwhelming trying to get on a schedule, to get my vitimans, regular meds, protien , water, breathing, and excercise in. This might take sometime to get use to, besides , needing to write it all down. I'm looking forward real soon to eliminate some of my reg. meds. and the protien supps in a few months. Thanks for all the encouraging posts in the past.                    Dave

Hi Dave, Welcome to the losers bench!  Keep in mind that the first 3 months are the toughest, but it gets a little better everyday.  As you see the pounds melt off, it makes any other incoveniences seem minor!  Just keep sipping your fluids (remember all (non-carbonated, caffiene free - they should all be this at this stage) fluids count toward your total intake.  That means your protein shakes count as well as your water.  That will make it easier for you to see progress on your fluid intake.  If you need an easy way to get protein, you can try the Profect supplements or the New Whey bullets.  Both are only about 2.9 ounces (yes, less than 3 oz) and have 25 or 42 grams of protein per bullet (tube). They are a little expensive, but you only want to use 1 or 2 per day, because you want to eat some of your protein too.  Good luck with your recovery and enjoy the journey!

Dave, Glad to hear your surgery went well.  It is overwhelming at first, but it does get easier day by day.    I'm almost 2 years out and still learn new things about this new journey.  Only a post or email away if you have any questions. Floyd

Welcome home Dave and to the the losers bench! I know what you mean about the schedule, it is a nightmare.  I ended up chewing all of my multi vit. at one time.  Then spaced the calcium out later in the day.  You might want to make sure it is ok with your nut and Dr. before you try that.  I didnt do that for a few weeks post op.  Good luck to you!
