Help Please !!!!! Dumping ????
Hi everyone,
I'm becoming real discouraged. I'm 1 week out and have dumped 3 times. My eating is fine and with the plan, most the time I not hardly hungry. My problem is getting all the protein in. I've tried the "new whey" bullets and several powder drinks mixed with milk. 8oz. milk with 1 scoop of protein for a total of 34 grams. I took a sip of one this morning and within minutes I boke out in a sweat. The other day I also did with another flavor. I have never puuked, just sweating and "out of it" . Could this be the milk itself causing this. Now the sight or thought of this protein crap makes my stomach turn Is there something else I can try ??? This Saturday I will go off full liquids and start pureed foods. HELP........HELP.......... HELP...........

www.unjury.com makes protein powders and will send you a sample back. I was able to use the unflavored and the chicken flavor/ You might want to try them.

Hi,
I did the same thing 2 weeks out and it WAS the milk, for me. I switched to lactose free(too watery) then to soy, since it seemed the one that didn't bother me. In fact, I still use soy for all my protien drinks. I like Continental 8 light the best but Silk is also good. Also, is your protein mix milk based? Just a thought.
Feel better soon,

Dave,
I would try leaving the milk alone for awhile and see how you do. Many people become lactose intolerant after surgery and this could be contributing to your symptoms. Are you having abdominal cramping with your sweats? You are so early out that make getting your fluids in your goal right now. You can go a little while before you need to be concerned about getting in all of your protein but ya gotta have those fluids or you will become dehydrated. One way that may be easier to get the protein in is try adding the bullet to some SF jello. Just mix up the jello as normal but substitute the bullets for some of the cold liquid and see if that helps you get in the protein without making you "dump" or whatever is going on. Since you have the bullets try mixing up some Crystal Lite packets with water and ice and add some of the bullet to that. You get your fluids in AND some protein.
Again, I would try avoiding the milk right now. I think that might be your culprit. It was with me. It is only after about 6 months could I handle milk again and even now I am very careful with the amount I consume. If you do OK with the above ways of getting in the protein for a couple of weeks, try making your protein shakes with water and see if you do OK. Hang in there. It does get easier and your life will be 100% better in a very short amount of time as long as you follow the rules!!
Best of luck!

Hi there, I don't know about if it's milk or not. I never had problems with milk after surgery. But if you think it is,.. you could try Isopure from GNC. Strawberries and Cream was the only protein drink I could tolerate at all. And at GNC, or atleast most of them, if you don't like the flavor, you can exchange it. You mix ISopure with water, btw.
