An introduction

I figured maybe I should introduce myself again.  The first was back in October and I have only been back a few months ago.  I live in Indy and am a stay at home mom to my two boys.  I became a stay at home in October 2005 when my youngest son Levi had to have brain surgery and 2 other surgeries in 32 days!  My boys have each had 5 surgeries, and Levi will be having his 6th surgery in May this year.  It has been a roller coaster ride but  worth it.  You would never know by looking at them all they have been through in their short lives! I have always been the "big" one of my friends, and when my oldest son trey was born and spent so much time in the hospital, I admit we ate McD's breakfast lunch and dinner.  Riley really needs something else to eat besides that and their extremely high priced cafeteria with nasty food!  So needless to say I gained 50 pounds when I was pregnant and never lost it!  Then got pregnant again and luckily didn't gain that much weight. Like everyone on here, I have tried diets, exercise, and everything else. it works for awhile then it would all come back and then some!  So I finally got up to going to a seminar since things with my boys finally slowed today ****il today any way) and now I got my approval, just waiting for a date to be scheduled.  Then of course today we found out Levi will need another surgery.  Go figure!  I feel horrible for thinking this, but I have waited for 5 years to do anything for myself, because we had over 18 doctors and 4 therapies a week between both boys.  I tried going back to college and something would always come up so I am waiting for that until they are both in Kind.. so I thought this would be the perfect time to get this done.  And now another surgery for my son.  i just don't get it.  So hopefully the timing will work out ok with my surgery too and I won't have to delay any longer.  Then in another year maybe I can make it back to school!  I hope that didn't sound selfi****hink I am just a little disappointed as we just got the news today. Any way so that is a little about me.  I would post a picture but I haven't figured that part out yet!  LOL

Leanne, I don't think of you as selfish by a long shot. You have dedicated your life the past several years to you family and I am sure that you did it out of love. If you keep giving water from the well eventually the well goes dry. Think of yourself as the well and know that you have to refill yourself in order to keep helping your family. It is not selfish also to want to better youself and your life. I hope that you soon get your date for your surgery and things work out for you and your family. In having the surgery you are not only helping yourself but also your family. You will be better able to deal with things and a more complete person because you will enjoy yourself hence being a better mom and wife. Keep your chin up because your day is coming, Sweetie.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
