Happy Hump Day!
Counting down the last of my chemo and radiation treatments. Next Monday is the last for both. Then I'll get the rest of that week off to relax before starting internal radiation. I've been told by my doctor that I'll come in on a Tuesday or Wednesday, be put in an isolation room and inserted with the radioactive seed, have lunch delivered, and chill out and watch tv. Three hours later they'll remove the radioactive seed and I get to go home. I do that once each week for three weeks. Not so bad.
I'm doing better this week compared to last. I was given medication for my pelvic pain that I ended up being allergic too. So I had intense diarrhea, hives, and a yeast infection all at the same time. Changed pain meds and everything is clearing up, although I have some really rough sores now. But I'm healing and doing better now. My energy level is even picking up. Lost 14 lbs total last week. I'm hoping to pick some up this week. I've actually haven't lost that much hair from the chemo. My MRI came back showing nothing wrong with my pelvic bone so now they are confused as to what is causing it to be as painful as it is.
Matt and Gage has Special Olympic State Basketball finals in Terra Haute this past weekend. Quinntin and I went and cheered them on. Matt's team lost their first game so they ended up in 3rd place statewide. Gage's team ended up winning their state title. Gage was so excited he got all lightheaded and about passed out. Then on Monday he won a lottery drawing at school and won an Apple Ipod Shuffle. He also got an award for wrestling too. Luck just rolled in for him all weekend long.
Quinntin turned 6 months old this past Saturday. Can someone tell me how in the heck did it become 6 months since he was born? My go**** hit me Sunday that in two or three months he'll have teeth and be up walking!!! He's growing up to dang fast!!!.
I've been afraid to post this or even mention it... but... please don't think I'm trying to cross any lines when I say this. If any of you parents have young girls, please... please.. please consider giving them the HPV preventive shot when they reach menstrual age. The shot will guard her up to 70 - 80 % from cancer causing HPV cells. HPV is what started my cervical cancer. HPV is NOT just an STD. You can get HPV cells from various situtations. Innocent situtations. Please consider protecting your daughters. If I had a daughter I would gladly do it. Give her the extra protection, especially knowing what I know now about HPV and cervical cancer. So please consider it.
Anyways - off my soap box.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend at the clothing exchange. I have lots of spring and summer stuff I'm bringing. Even a few bathing suits.
Have a Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

It is now just afternoon and getting my first chance to get in here with you all. Everyone seems busy today. I am just staying home and going to wait for the urologist to call with the results of my 24 hour urine test. He has called 2 times and both times I have been out and about so I told them at the office that I am staying home today to talk to him. Otherwise I am going to have to wait until this week end and I don't want to wait that long. Janene, I know that you are long gone to Indy but I wish you guys good luck on the interview. Have a wonderful dinner and think of me sitting here waiting for the call. lol Sherri, good luck at the dentist and you and Bill enjoy dinner too. Tell Floyd and Brenda I said hi. Misty, happy anninversary. I can't even remember Bill's and my 3rd anniversary. We more than likely spent it working. We did that on a lot of anniversaries. Usually different shifts too. Linda, glad that today is payday. I wi**** was here too. lol Being an overprotective mom is not always a bad thing. I hope that things work out well for Mikey. Jodi, I am glad that things seem to be going well for you. I am in total agreement with the HPV shot. My neice has HPV too and I constantly worry about her health. On top of it with her being adopted we have no information on any of the medical background on either birth parents. I worry about her 10 year old daughter too. I am going talk to her about making sure that Brittany gets that when she is old enough. Bill just came in and announced that he cleaned the inside of my car. I am glad because the dust was getting to me. We live on a very busy intersection and the cars get so dusty all the time. He cleaned the windows too and I am grateful for that. He loves to do things like this. When we lived in the house he loved doing the yard work too and he misses that since we now live here in the apartment. He does a bit of gardening in the patio area but he doesn't have the yard like he did before and he loved to cut the grass too but toward the end it got where he kind of dreaded doing it. But gardening is his one of his loves. I better get going. The sun is out and Bill says that it is kind of warm but there is a chill in the air. I am still waiting for spring to come. Hope that you all have a blessed and happy day today. My love and hugs are with all of you.
