Questions for Dr. Evansons patients.....Please
HI everyone,
I was wondering what all DR. E requires as far as pre op stuff, such as any classes, ob gyn vists, other dr vists. Anything you know would be a great help. Im trying to also get an idea of what I will need to spend as far as out of pocket. Im going to his seminar on May 8th. I have pretty much everything required by the insurance. just 1 more month of the 6 month diet to go. Thanks for reading...Have a wonderful Sunny day.
other than the pre-op class I don't think anything else was required. In the packet they did ask when the last pap and mamo were done. I didn't wait to find out if it was required or not. I didn't want to take a chance and get turned down because they weren't done so I just scheduled them right away. I was past due getting them done and I havne't done them since. (shame on me). You will have to have a psyc eval if you haven't done that already. I really liked Dr E. He is very easy to talk to and very honest. He will expect you to do your part by following the diet and exercising post op. If you do you'll get along just great! Time is flying by quickly. It won't be long till you are sitting on the losers bench!
Hi Melissa,
I am a patient of Dr E's and my surgery is scheduled for 6/4/08. When I had my consult with him I scheduled my Pysch Eval (I think it was $150) payable at the time of the appointment and then I scheduled my yearly and when I got all that back they faxed that stuff with my papers to the insurance for approval. I sure hope it all works out for you. I really like him. He is very funny and to the point.

Dr. E's pre-req's are the same as St. V....psych eval, pre-tests, and nutrition classes.
The pre-tests include bloodwork, Upper GI, ulcer test, a visit with a respiratory therapist...St. V will let you know what you need.
As far as your OB/GYN visits go, I would not worry if you are current. I think all women should do their yearly exam. Some women have had birth control concerns...I didn't. I use a Mirena IUD. Pill-users may not be as protected as they think they are due to the new stomach and absorption issues. So, that is something to think about.
