I am 12 days out from RNY. On Sunday thought I would try some boiled egg white for lunch. I didn't puree it, but did use my fork to sma**** up. I ate the whole oz even though it felt kinda funny when it hit my pouch. Needless to say I spent the early morning hours of Monday in the ER with severe nausea and upper stomch pain after 6 hours of suffering. Thank God there was nothing wrong that a GI ****tail didn't cure, even though the cure was almost as bad as the illness. I had never had one before, but knew from the ingrediants, that it would not be tasty. Since there was about 3 oz, I couldn't just gulp it down. What vile stuff. Didn't start sweating until after drinking it and trying not to let it back up. Was this a touch of "Dumping Syndrome?" So Monday it was clear liquids and the rest of this week I am back to just full liquids. I was looking forward to something else besides yogurt and cottage cheese. I guess I was just trying to advance to fast. Any ideas on what would be easier to digest or is it just trial and error?  I did have some mashed potatoes Saturday and they didn't bother me.

Some people just can't do eggs post-op.  I can only eat about three bites of egg before my tummy tells me it is enough.  You will find that some foods just won't work.  chicken is another I've heard people mention though it doesn't bother me.  Just eat slow, small bites and listen to what your tummy is telling you. You have to learn to eat all over again.   Hope you are doing better.

It's trial and error for the most part, and each person is different. For example, I can eat eggs fine. I haven't found any kind of way that they bother me. But, I CANNOT eat fish or seafood. It makes me sick, sick, sick. No matter which kind, no matter how it's cooked, it doesn't seem to matter. Sorry you had to feel sick, dear. Don't get discouraged, though.

You might try some cream of wheat or oatmeal.  I lived on that for a few weeks.  I put splenda and a little light butter in it and it was pretty yummy.  Most of all just chew, chew, chew into a mushy consistency and eat slow.  I find if I eat too fast, it aggravates my pouch.
