Newbie Here!

Hi all!  My name is Beth!  (Wildflwr)  I'm a newbie!  I started this journey in January and got approved and tested, and got my date a few weeks ago.  I'm having laproscopic RouxEn-Y on April 15 at Community North in Indianapolis.  I'm SOOO excited...and nervous...and excited....and nervous.  You all know this wonderful rollercoaster!  (can you see the sarcasm dripping off?)  lol.  Seriously it is great!  I'm trying to keep busy with getting everything ready!  I've got all of my vitamins, my protein drinks, my hospital stay stuff, my post-surgery liquid foods.  I think I'm ready.  I'm trying to keep busy.  This weekend I'm taking my daughter to the movies.  Doing some fun things!   I can't wait to hear from you and get to know you!  I'm anxious to hear about your adventures and your advice!   Brightlady invited me to the clothing exchange tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be able to make it after all.  I will definitely make the next one!  That is such an amazing idea!   Thanks for allowing me in to such a wonderful group!   Beth

Hi Beth and welcome to the IN OH boards.  Everyone is so helpful and friendly here.  I come here several times a day cause I am so addicted.  Remember no question is stupid, this is definetly a learning experience of what you are about to go thru. I am almost 6 mos. post op and I am still learning.   One thing I do want to mention is dont stock up on too much protein drink or any food for that matter, because what you may like now, you may not after surgery.  Our taste buds sometimes go wacky! Sorry you cant make it to the exchange tomorrow.  This is the first one I have been able to attend so I am getting to meet everyone for the first time. Good luck with your surgery and post as soon as you can to let us know how you are doing.

I just wanted to wish you the best and to let you know that I too had my bariatric surgery at Community North and although I had a different surgeon I was pleased with them and look forward to seeing you post! Welcome Beth. I too was excited but nervouse before I had my surgery. Mine was 10/8/07 and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am loving my new life and every moment in it. I feel like a different person and I know I have a different attitude about myself. I am much more outgoing and I am finding a new me inside. You are so right when you call this a roller coaster ride because that is just what it is. Please post often so that we can get to know you. I will keep you in my prayers as your surgery date is fast approaching. Good luck on your new adventures.

Hi Beth, I am Shanna. I have been on the boards since October, when  I started on my 6 months diet. My surgery is the day after yours. We are almost sugery sisters. I am having Rny on the 16th. Up at Clarian North with Dr Mattar. I haven't gotten anything yet. I just got my date on Wednesday. Ohh Acutally yesterday I bought Weight Loss surgery for dummies. I already know all of it already bt It never hurts to be over prepared. I have lost 59 pounds preop and still was approved by Anthem. I have 95 more I want to lose. I am considered a Lightweight, Which is soo funny to me because $ years ago I was 300 pounds. Hope to talk to you soon. SHanna

Hi, Beth. I am LaChelle.  So glad to have you on here with us.  You are so right when you say that this is a rollercoaster ride!!! It is all worth it tho!  Good luck on your upcoming surgery! Make sure you keep us posted on your progress and feel free to ask any questions if you want.  I am sure that with all of us that are post-op, whether it is several years out or newly post-op, there is someone that can come up with answers to any questions you may have! Wish you could join us at the clothing exchange.  We have them every few months, so make sure you get to the next one then.  This is my first one that I am getting to attend, and believe me, I am soooooo ready to go!
