Jodi...
Linda,
Hopefully, you haven't already...please don't send flowers. When someone is going through chemo, their white count is dropped low (so that the body doesn't try to combat the chemo). Everything is more sensitive to it's surroundings...especially your respritory system. Floral arrangements probably wouldn't work very well at this time for Jodi. Some floral places (like 1800flowers.com) offer candle arrangements. While she may not be able to light any of them right now, she could enjoy them and look forward to when she could. Another gift idea may be a book. I'm not positive, but I could see Jodi enjoying a good Harlequin. I know she also likes to do different puzzles..so a variety puzzle book perhaps. If you would like to physically help out, please email me so that you have an opportunity to get on the schedule once I hear back from Matt with the dates & times.

Ulisha,
Please email me at [email protected]. Matt is going to send me the dates & times that would work for people to come by (because of chemo/radiation/doctor appointments). After I get those, I will be sending out an email to those who have contacted me through my email to set up a schedule for people to come over there. Matt is depending on me to let him know who to expect...and when.
I did talk with Matt about the grocery...and if possible, please make any grocery cards from Kroger's...and gas cards from Speedway. I know that they'd appreciate anything and everything they get though. Again, Jodi's address is on the Hoosier Directory if anyone would like to send a card/gift card. Not that I believe anyone would, but it's gotta be said....please don't use the address to just 'pop' in on them. When you feel like crap, surprises aren't always a good thing.

I just found online that one of the Kroger stores also has a gas station with it, so they can use Kroger gift cards to get gas there as well. Just a helpful hint. We don't have a speedway anywhere close, so this is easier for me to do. And, if I am not mistaken, by using a kroger gift card, they can usually save up to .03 cents off a gallon of gas. I may be wrong on that, but I know that is how they usually work.

Linda,
Thanks to Hope's husband Peter recently going through the chemo, I found out what happens to your white count. She makes sure she puts on every update 'DO NOT SEND FLOWERS'. Shoot..I had a white count scare myself (which was why my surgery was postponed in January). Unless you, a loved one, or a friend goes through something like that, you'd have no idea that flowers wouldn't be a good thing. I was just fortunate that it was still winter months with no pollen in the air when I had my stuff...my respritory system can be picky about that sort of thing anyway so I can imagine how sick I would had been when my white count was so low! I know that normally, people LOVE flowers! I sure did while I was at St. V's & Seton in October and then again while at St. V's last month!
I think a little something would be good for Gage..rather if it be a WalMart certificate, food certificate, movie tickets or anything else. I know that Matt would try to be sure Gage got to use whatever was sent.

I just felt like with me living so close to her that is the least I can do is go help her out. I dont always get on here like I should, or sometimes I just lurk lol, but you can send emails asking about whats around here or how something around here works at [email protected] and I will help you out as much as I can.

HI,
I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH GAGE, AND HE IS ON SPRING BREAK THIS WEEK-
SO I BET ANYTHING WE'D SEND WOULD BE GREAT. JODI IS HAVING A CHEMO TREATMENT RIGHT NOW, SO HE'S HANGING OU****CHING TV, & PLAYING GAMES. I HAVE A 13 YR. OLD GRANDSON, AND KNOW THEY LOVE FAST FOOD & GIFT CARDS-THERE'S A BLOCKBUSTER RENTAL THERE, TOO, SO THEY CAN PICK OUT WHAT THEY WANT!
WITH GRANDMA THERE, IT WOULD BE FUN FOR THEM TO HAVE ALITTLE TIME ALONE- LIKE AT THE MOVIES, ETC.
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING OVER,& HELPING THEM OUT, AND SHERRI IS GOING TO LET ME KNOW WHEN IT'S MY TURN. I LIVE 17 MILES AWAY, AND HOPE TO HAVE SOMEONE GO WITH ME- ULISHA, MAYBE WE CAN GO TOGETHER?! LETS SEE WHAT GETS PLANNED, OK?!

Sherri,
I haven't been on the board since last week, so I just found out Jodi needed help (as you said earlier, it should have been obvious). I'm going to send them a gas card and you can put me on the list for helping out on a weekend. I'm tied up 4/12, 19 & 20, but can be available any other weekend day. Unfortunately I don't live close enough to be able to help out during the evenings and I work full time during the day. But I can come out on most any weekend I'm needed. Please tell her I'm thinking of her when you talk to her next.
Cindy
