What would you do?

I am pre op. But I have a 4 day convention coming up in mid June. I assume I will be in the first 6 weeks post op (puree stage). I will have no control over food. Would you go or not?

I would go. You don't have to eat the food at the convention. Take yogurt for the hotel fridge, things like that. Worst case scenario, take little jars of baby food with you to the convention site. They don't need refridgeration. That said, of course check with your doctor, and follow their instructions!

Linda had the right answer. GO but take your own food. Check with your doctor but you can probably get away with scrambled eggs and cheese or soft fruit if you sma**** with a fork.  I've seen a lot of people talk about surviving on refried beans and cheese during the puree stage too. There are tons of ideas but make sure you check them out with your doctor and/or nutritionist. I'd call the hotel and make sure they have refrigerators in the room or if you an get one put in for "medical" purposes. Some hotels that don't have them in every room do have some for an additional charge. If that's the case you should probably reserve one in advance.  Good luck and have fun.

If the DR. has no problems you need to go.  Lead a normal life minus the food problems.  Scrambled eggs or refried beans or oatmeal can work.  Take your baby spoon and have fun.  Don't let other people bother you about why you are eating strangely to them.   E

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
