How do you feel about almond flour
Not only am I making a big change in life but my family will be too!
Thou I am going to try to stay away from white flour I would like an alternative to flour. That way my family isn't deprived of carbs so to speak. So I have heard almond flour is good. Can I get any feed back on this. I am guessing almond flour is better then regular flour.
Thanks
Robin
I found whole wheat flour at Meijers and I use that for everything and nobody knows the difference. You can barely tell the difference in anything I make....Yummy..I personally didn't eat it but just a few times for myself but I flour everything with it. Shanna

Hi Robin,
I've had things made with almond flour and it is good, but expensive. Not a good substitute for family cooking. I buy whole grain, whole wheat at Wal-mart. Check the label and you'll see that it has more protein and more fiber than white flour and it doesn't have to be "enriched" (they do this to white flour because they process out all the nutrients and then have to add them back). That is why you want "whole grain" as well as whole wheat. I've used it to bake everything from sugar free cream puffs to homemade biscuits. If you are going to do a bread type thing you might want to sift it first. That will break up any clumps, but it isn't really necessary. I've only sifted it if the recipe says to. Even then all that is left in the sifter is a little bit of bran and I just throw that into the bowl anyway because it's good for you.
