Keri, I wrote about my experience in my Blog section on my profile. I had Dr. Bergman here in Indy and I think she is totally fantastic. Sherri

Keri, Thanks. If I hadn't ran into problems, I probably would have been back to work in the 7 weeks as planned. The incisions themself didn't hurt. I had the full TT w/abdo tightening (insurance paid for the TT portion & the night stay)  & thigh lift. I had 3 drain tubes. What all are you looking into having done? Sherri

I am wanting the panni removal which my ps said is medically necessary.  So I shouldn't have a problem there with insurance.  He said I didn't need any tighting of the muscles... My family doctor and my team bariatrics office provided documentation that my breast lift and arm lift/removal is medicaly necessary also but the ps doesn't agree.  I have faxed all of the paperwork for those procedures on my own to see what road blocks I run into with insurance. My main concern was the pain for the panni removal.  I have seen pictures and was getting a little scared and nervous considering I was not cut for my bypass and have not had any problems what so ever.  Thanks for all your help..  How did you get insurance to pay for the thigh lift?  Were all the drains in your stomach area?  I am making myself just sick with stress from all of this.

My insurance covered the TT only....not the rest of the abdo part or the thighs. That portion was out of pocket. Really, the best thing you can do is go have a consult. I would really recommend Dr. Bergman/Dr. Grasse. I would not recommend Dr. Turkle..for many reasons, but also because she doesn't like trying to get the insurance to pay for anything at all.  So...don't over-stress yourself. Have the consult, and then you'll have an idea of what to do.  I personally had no pain from the pani removal or thigh lift. Oh..and I had 1 drain in my pubic area and one at each knee on the inside of the thigh. My pain was pretty much from the abdo tightening....ESPECIALLY if I coughed! OWIE! Sherri

Keri- My doc is in with Sherri's doc! I was not in alot of pain due to the panni removal. I hd a hernia repair done at the same time and the hernia pain, well it was the worst part of it all, een the RNY! For the most part I healed pretty quickly, but I was not released for wor****il the end of July, my surgery was May 8th! I had a few small incisions that were not closd completely and we just took extra precautions! I was cut from hip to hip and down into the mans area! I hope that this helps, if you need to ask more questions, feel free or you can PM me! Hugz Dawn

I had a full TT with muscle repair and a BA/BL together on May 4th last year a Thursday and went back to work at my office job on Monday after surgery.  Dr Eppley in Indy did my surgery as outpatient.  The pain was minor I couldn't stand up straight and I had 2 drain tubes in my TT that was a pain in the hinney but it wasn't bad at all.  The BA/BL was the worst to get used to because I could feel the muscles moving over the implants everytime I moved my arms so they got a little sore.  I would say after 2 weeks I was back to normal and that was after they took out my drain tubes it was so much better. Was the TT a cut of upside down T or just hip to hip? Did insurance pay for any of this?

My TT was hip to hip it did go around almost to my back.  And I paid for it no insurance.
