Insurance-to good to be true, but it is!
O.k. So after reading so many posts here about various insurance co-pays, deductables etc, I thought I better call my unsurance and check. I did not recall the dr office telling me anything about this in my initial consultation, but I have slept since then.
Turns out since I am "in network" I have a zero deductable, and zero co-pay. I will litterally owe nothing, except for my perscriptions needed after I go home. The seemed to go to be true, so I keep pushing the lady at Anthem and sure enough its true.
I thought I would share some good insurance news for a change.

Kim, Be careful about those $20 copay.... there is what is called a "global post op period" after surgery, in which the Dr can not charge you for f/u visits. I don't know off the top of my head 100%, but I think for RNY it is 90 days, UNLESS you are seeing the Dr. for a problem unrelated to your surgery. feel free to contact me if you have questions about this, I work in insurance billing/coding and am happy to help if I can.
