Hello all, an okie here. I just wanted to post here, and say I AM SOOO HOMESICK!!! I am a hoosier at heart. I was born in Plymouth (north of Indy) and lived around there for the next 21 years of my life:) Went to college in Ft.Wayne and met the man of my dreams. After school I wanted to explore and see more so we got married and moved to Oklahoma where he is from and his family is. Been here the last 5 years. I would love to move back just because I miss my family. We have a super fantastic church family (came to the Lord and asked to have Him in my life fall of 03), a one year old son who loves his great grandma here (and she thinks the sun rises and sets on his little head), friends and a great life. He has a family of 2 younger brothers, and parents that are only children. I'm the baby of 7, 4nieces, 4nephews, 2 great nephews, and lots of aunts, uncles, etc... I don't miss the cold drearyness of IN, and love, love the sunshine and warm weather here. I just....miss.Dh and I have kicked around moving back but haven't decided anything. We just want to figure something out before teeny tiny gets school age.  Make sense? Starting my wl journey here. Been big forever. 26yrs, 262lbs, and trying to figure out the best diet plan for me. Going to wei watch for now if nothing else for the accountability. Anyway, thanks for listening. Just had to have a little touch of home. God bless and best of luck to each of you on your journeys. Hugs~Joni

Joni, welcome to the Hoosiers Losers board. Once a hoosier always a hoosier. I of course have lived here forever and would love to try somewhere else but I know I would be homesick. Please feel free to post when you would like to. You continue to be one of us even if you are displaced a state or two. Welcome and hope to see more of you here.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Joni, You are welcome to come and visit us on the Hoosier board whenever you'd like. Should you move back, you'll already feel like you're moving back to old  friends! I take it that you are trying first to lose the weight without weight loss surgery. Good for you! most on here tried that route but weren't very successful. Don't let that discourage you! You are fortunate that you can benefit from all of our experiences!!! Speaking as someone older enough to be your mother...and someone who is 3.5 years post-RNY surgery, there is alot of 'I wish I had's....' for me when it comes to weight loss. For instance...I wish I had got off my butt and walked more! I wish I had listened and drank that eight 8 oz glasses of water. I wish I had substituted low carb/fat/sugar whenever I could have. Those three things alone would had benefited me SO much! There is another site...SparkPeople.com that can help you on your diet journey. And by the way...I speak of 'diet' as in 'how you eat'...NOT in 'starving yourself''. Even someone who is 600 lb and shoving in 2 buckets of KFC to go with the quart of mashed potatoes and 24 buttered bisquits is eating a 'diet'..obviously, a bad one, but it is still considered a 'diet'. I hope you feel free to come visit us..and brink some of that Oakie sunshine with you!                Sherri

Thanks gals! You all are so sweet. I bought a plane ticket this weekend to come home the end of the month/first wk in June. I have a niece graduating. Can't wait to see everyone. Teeny tiny and I are going to see how well we both fit in that little plane seat. He's one, so he's going to be riding on mamas lap. First time for him flying since in utero:) Hope he likes it as much now as he did then. lol.
