I am trying to get everything in. Felt horrible today very dizzy. But I am feeling better tonight. I drank some chicken broth about 2:00pm took in about 8 ounces in an hour and a half. (I think I was started to get dehydrated so really wanted to push the fluids. Well I am still full. I have been drinking since because I don't want to stop but the full feeling is driving me crazy! I was I was only able to eat 8 oz during that time. Now I can only get in 1-2 per hour since. Like I said the full feeling is not comfortable. I also got the foamies for about an hour. right now it feels like someone has their fist wrapped around my stomach and squeezing. Am I eating to much? I had waited two hours one time for this to subside and it doesn't could this be an endo problem? Thanks

Robin

Robin,  First, you are doing great! Take your time is ok, and I am amazed at how much protein you are getting in. I only got in 1-2 oz. at a meal at first. Feeling full is NORMAL, don't worry about it. Keep focusing on getting in your water and fluids, and protien. If the pain becomes unbearable, go to the hospital!! Are you waiting for 1/2 hr. before you go for your walk? Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Robin, If you continue to not be able to keep anything down tomorrow, definately call Dr. Inman's office. Isn't it ~1 oz every 15 minutes that they have you start off with in the hospital? It's been awhile so correct me if I'm wrong with that. With you being so new out, I wouldn't try to pu**** beyond that. No, you won't be able to get everything in..that's normal at first. Slowly, you'll be able to get in a little more at a time. With you trying to do chicken broth, check the labels. There is one that Swanson makes that is 3-4 g of protein per serving. That would at least up your protein as well as getting some fluids into you. But still, maintain that 1 oz/15 minutes (or whatever it was). Eventually...~4-6 weeks post-op, you'll all of a sudden realize that you are getting all your liquids and stuff in. Until then, don't pu**** too hard. For tonight & tomorrow, I would slow it down some. Do exactly as you did in the hospital right down to logging in your oz and timing how long it takes to drink/eat it. If you can't keep it down, call and talk with Dr. Inman's nurse. I don't think people usually start having problems that require an endo intervention until they are a little more post-op. Strictures are usually caused by scar tissue. At less than a week post-op, that would be some mighty quick scar tissue formation. My guess is that you probably just need to slow down some and give your pouch some time to get use to having liquids/food in it. Always, always when in doubt, call your doctor's office. That's what they get the big bucks for. Sherri

Yes Sherri is right on the 1 oz every 15  min.  Just take in 1 oz over a 15 min. period of time.  It will get easier. Just slow down. The full feeling is horrible, I remember that. I still have those days. I just lay down and it finally goes away. Try walking to, that sometimes helps. It could be gas too. You might want to try some Gas X strips. They dissolve right on your tongue. The cinnamon ones are good.
