MY TURN!!!
My name is Jacque and I am from Lafayette, IN. I have lived here all my life. I have been with my husband Brad for 20 yrs. We went on our first date 20 yrs ago today 5/2/88. We dated for 2 weeks and got engaged. We found out 2 days before our 10 yr wedding anniversary that were expecting our first child. We now have two wonderful boys. Brayton is 8yrs old and Jacob will be 5 on 5/9/08. 2) I work for Re/Max Real Estate Co. I have worked here for a little over year and they are the most wonderful people I think I have ever worked for. I do not sell homes but I answer the phone and schedule showings and put information into the computer system. 3) I enjoy NASCAR racing and almost any kind of racing there is. 4). My husband is adopted and we found his birhtmother in Dec 07 and just found out this week she has cancer. Please pray for us. His adopted mother is also very sick so we are just trying to hang in there. 5) My husband just called and has an appt to see Dr Evanson on 5/19/08 which is the day that I have my pre-op testing so we will be down there anyway. 6) I have 2 miniature schnauzers, Tucker and Daisy. Tucker is salt n pepper and Daisy is almost all silver. I love them! they make me laugh. 7) I like to shop but think I will like it even more after surgery when I can find some cutsie clothes.
OT can someone tell me how to only post to the IN board? Also Kim E that replied to this had her surgery today. I met her through the boards and I am going to go see her and meet her face to face tomorrow (Sat). I can't wait to go.
Jacque
Hello everyone, My name is Sue and I live between Peru and Bunker Hill in a house that we had built 12 years ago. I have been married 36 years and have 3 great kids and 6 wonderful grandkids. My son (the youngest) lives in Tucson with his wife of 7 years and has 2 little girls ages 4 and 1. One is mentally challenged after an illness in 2005 that sent her into cardiac arrest and they revived her but left her at about a 3 - 6 month old level. My other granddaughter (the oldest child of my oldest daughter) is 16 1/2 and she is a cancer survivor. She had hodgkins lymphoma that is in remission. She has one brother age 15. The other 2 grandsons ages 13 and 9 are those of my middle child, a daughter. My husband was in the Air Force for 20 years and we traveled the world. He retired from that in 1990. He and I are now both State of Indiana employees. He works for the IOT division and I am in the State Police at Peru. I do data input. I have been heavy all my life since grade school days. I have never known what a normal weight feels or even looks like. I am very very close to the goal I set when I started this journey. I had laproscopic RNY July 13, 2007 with Dr. Huse as my surgeon. I had a beginning weight of 271 on consultation day in November 2006 which was not my highest weight ever because in the summer of 2006 at my PCP I weighed in around 280#. The official starting weight (June 2007) is listed as 246 because in the phase when I was waiting on approval I managed to lose 25#. When I weighed last week here at home I was 149 just 5# from the goal I wanted to reach which is a normal BMI. I am doing things I never even dreamed of before bariatric surgery. I have walked (and jogged) four 5K races and have finished all of them. I am striving for under a 15 minute mile. Three of those have been under the 15 min mile. I have registered for the Geist 5K and they claim if you can do a 15 min mile they will give you a finishers medal. That is my short term goal since that walk is on May 17, 2008. I would love to be at my goal weight by then. I have a real constant fear that I will falter and regain some of this weight. My husband is the best support I could ever have wished for. He goes exercising with me, we do the walks together, and in the process he has gotten healthier by losing 40#'s himself.
Wow. :) I loved getting to know all of you! This is a great idea.
1. My name is Misty but a lot of people tend to call me by my first/middle name together. I'm 26 and married to Richard for 3 years. Right now I'm not working but I'm looking for a part time job and looking to return to school for nursing.
2. I grew up moving back and forth between Bartow, Florida and Baltimore, Maryland, because of this most people assume it's because my parents were divorced but they weren't we just moved around a LOT. When I was 15 we moved to Louisville, KY and then after I met my husband I moved to IN 4 years ago.
3. I really badly want a Pugle but I'm terrified of having a pet because my allergies are so bad and we live in an apartment where we can't have animals yet. We have no children here on earth but have had multiple miscarriages.
4. Music and photography are my absolute passions in life. I really thought bout trying out for American Idol next year just for the fun of it even though I don't think I'd make it too far but it sounds fun.
Well, I havent posted on here in what seems to be forever, but I figured I'd play along.
1) I grew up in Tipton Indiana, moving to Indianapolis in 2003. I really like living in indy, but miss my family at times.
2) I was born severely club footed on my right foot, and have had 22 foot surgeries (Number 22, one week ago today), and it better be the last one!
3) I do not have any children, but I have a 10 year old nephew, Jacob and a 6 year old neice, Brevin who are very fun to spoil. They live in Miami Indiana with their mom and dad (my brother)
4) One of my goals when I started my weight loss was to be able to fly without asking for a seatbelt extender. Well, I havent experienced that yet, but I will in July, when I go to HAWAII!!!!!!!!!!!
5) I have laundry that needs folded, so I have to go now.
:D

My dad grew it from about 50,000 cases a year sold to over 1million now.
My dad was a recovering alcoholic, we found out in 2003 he might need a liver tx. He got it November 30 2007. When they opened up the old liver they found bile duct cancer but thought they had transplanted him soon enough. IN February he had trouble breathing and on FEB. 22 we found out it was in his lungs. He died March 28, 2008. We are thankful that we got tosay the things we wanted and needed to say. He was an amazing man. He is a strong christian so I know he is in heaven getting to be face to face with Jesus What an amazing thought. He was an avid big game hunter. He hs an elephant head mounted on his wall. He's hunted in Africa 5 times. If you want to check out his website its his journey from transplant to death, with a lot of super comments its www.thestatus.com click on visit a patient page ID grimm password butterfly-green. We are so happy we did this site, now his grandkids and us will have some great memories.
We are very envolved with our church and our kids go to Lakewood Park Christian School.
