The day of surgery I weighed 283. I am currently drum ......roll....... 266!  For some reason I didn't gain any water weight at the hospital. I am pretty excited with this not expecting it at all. You can see it in my face but that is about it.

Right now I don't like the taste of any sugarfree drinks. The only thing I like is ready to drink Isopure and milk. I started my mushy foods today so my main hydration is milk. Even water has a bad taste right now. Hopefully this will change over time. Today is my first day going without Isopure (to expensive).  I really loved sugarfree flavoring for me water but I have tried alot of them and just something about them doesn't taste good. My next step is buying different types of bottle water to see if I like any of them.

Take Care

Sounds like you are doing awesome!!!  Congrats!!! I am a huge Crystal Light Drinker but there are only a couple of falvors I like.  At Walmart they have their band "Great Value" and they have a flavor that Crystal Light does not even make,  its Grape.  Its a really strong grape flavor too, just like grape koolaid, which was my fav as a kid.  Might give it a try.  I use the dingle serve little packets and a box is like $1.29 which is cheap compared to then name brand stuff.   Take Care and great job!!! I drank a lot of decaf hot tea ( Aveda has the best hot tea) and low sodium chicken broth.  I couldn't stand Isopure.  You are doing so great I only lost 6 pounds my first week.  I was a super slow loser, but I lost 128 in a year and a half  so I'm at 130.  Dr. C doesn't want me any lower.  I dip below that if I stress out though.  I never remember my weight going up before my period but now it can go up 5 -6 pounds then a few days after I start its right down.  Keep up the good work.  Sarah

Awesome job Robin, You are so lucky, I gained 25 pounds in water weight. I did have 2 iv bags hooked up to me though. I went in at 222 came home at 247. This morning I was 209. I had that nasty taste aswell. I am slowly losing it though. I had to make myself drink Isopure yesterday for the protein. I am 2 1/2 weeks out. Great Job. We need to get together soon. shanna

That is fantastic Robin!! I lost 7.4 lbs my first week, and can't wait to see what next Wednesday brings.  I finally found some protein I can tolerate, the unflavored 100% whey protein mixed with Crystal Light.  Pure water still tastes odd to me, so I have several different Crystal Light flavors in the fridge at all times.  Right now I'm drinking a Raspberry Tea, which is really yummy!

Keep up the good work!!

Way to go Robin, that is great!  I think that bad taste is normal. I had it too.  It could be ketoacitosis (sp?)  it has to do with your sugar levels. Keep up the great work!

Robin, you are doing great. Congratulations on your wonderful loss. Keep doing what you are doing because if it is working why fix it. I couldn't drink Isopure after the last couple of days of the pre surgery diet since I get terrible migraines from the sweetner in it. It is the same as Equal and that gives me terrible migraines too.

You are doing  great Robin  Thumbs Up  !!!! Yep, that "taste" is normal, just as Jenny said, & it will go away in awhile( for me about 3 weeks). I gained about 25# after surgery- water weight, and it took awhile for me to lose it.Try the flavors alittle later, & see if you can do them. I understand about Isopure,it is costly.Keep up your protien drink tho, and you'll do great. On to soft foods, just chew, chew ,chew! I used the SF WalMart brand of grape- to me, it was good. I also froze some in cubes and that helped to have something to add flavor to my drink. Sip,Walk, chew, & rest ,& give Reagan a big ((hug)) for me, ok?  ((((((((((((((( Big Hug ))))))))))))) Ellen
