i'm about 6 weeks out now and able to get off pureed foods just like the doctor said. however, i'm having issues forcing myself to eat. i only eat about 2 meals a day after reminding myself that it needs to be done. any tips on getting more regular about eating? it takes about 4 hours before i finally remember/want to put something in my pouch, and after about 2 bites, i'm done. i do force myself to eat the rest of the 2 ozs though. i know part of my problem is in my head because i've found a lot more foods i can't eat now because they make me really sick. i'm open to any and all ideas.

Do you have set times that you can designate as your meal times, and make those non negotiable? Do you have family or friends you can have a meal with? For me, even though I'm just 10 days out, I have been struggling with not feeling hungry, not wanting to eat, etc.  I force myself to eat with my husband and kids, and it helps keep me on track getting my foods in (even though I can still just do 1 ounce).  When my dad had the surgery and went through this stage, he too forced himself to eat with my mom, and keeping on a schedule really helped him out.  I have 8, noon and 5 set aside as my mealtimes, not saying I eat right on the dot at 8am, but sometime within the hour around each of those times, I make sure I sit down to eat.

thays a good idea Amy! I'm going to have to do that. I have to force myself to eat also. I most the time get the 2 oz down. But I'm having more troble with all the fluids. Everyday is getting better.

I agree... make yourself eat a regular times but remember if you do not have your protien you WILL loose strength, hair, and your health. I MADE myself remember I signed a contract to remain healthy thru this process... I had the surgery so I wouldnt die... I sure am not going to kill myself trying to loose the weight I worked so hard to loose. You will catch on.... don't beat yourself up but remember health comes first!! the weight will come off faster if you get your food in.. calories in and protien in correctly.. when your body thinks it is starving... it actually starts reserving fat!!!Linda Kay
