Kim,Congrats on being a loser!                             When I was a newbie, I mixed up St. V's mix (powder milk & skim milk) and added some SF jello mix to it for flavoring. I stuck to lemon or lime flavors because the rest were too sweet. If you mix it up in a blender, just be sure to let it settle very well so you won't be putting those tiny air pockets in your pouch.                    For food..I would add a little bit of skim milk to the oatmeal to make it a little better on the tastebuds. I was allowed instant mashed potatoes and creamed soups. I would use 1 oz of soup on top of the potatoes like it was gravy. It did a good job of moistening the potatoes.                                              Best of luck!  Sherri

Kim, welcome home!! The first few days home for me were a never ending taste test.  Cottage cheese tasted icky, still does.  Couldn't tolerate cheese sticks last weekend, today they were delicious, but only if I pulled it off in strings to eat it...can't take 'bites'.  I found Dannon's light n fit yogurt, especially in white chocolate raspberry, to be delicious and not too sweet.  Instant mashed potatoes made with chicken broth in place of water and a dash of garlic salt instead of plain salt are incredible!  Top your ounce with a pat of butter, and they are tasty.  One of my protein life savers this week has been fat free refried beans topped with a sprinkle of low fat mexican shredded cheese.  I even froze 1 ounce lumps (since the can was 16 ounces!) on waxed paper, and am keeping them in a ziploc in my freezer.  Heat for about 15 seconds in the microwave, top with cheese and heat another 15 seconds...so tasty.   Protein supplement were where I struggled, and I think I know why after reading Sherri's post!! I tried the St V's mix, but got horrible gas...painful, painful painful.  Um, I didn't let it 'rest'...I blended it up and tried to drink it right down! Oooops...now that I realize I was putting those teeny bubbles in my baby pouch, no wonder I felt so miserable.  Duh.  Anyway, I tried the GNC 100% whey unflavored protein, mixing it with Crystal Light.  Tasted OK...but it stinks...my breath, gas, the bathroom...very smelly.  So I've been drinking just 1% milk, and it's gone down fine.  Now that I know to let the St V's mixture 'rest', I'll give that a try again! It was delicious with sugar free chocolate pudding mixed in.  Anyway, good luck, and test test test! What works now may not next week and vice versa! Amy

The blurry eyes could very well be from the anti nausea patch. :) I had the same thing every time I've had it because it dilates your pupils.
