Finally decided on the lap band

Hi,   Just thought I would drop a post here letting all those that have been so helpful with me making my decision on which surgery to have. I did call Dr. Guptas and told the office I wanted the lap band. I just think that is the tool for me. Now with my six months being done I just have to wait for a date. I love this forum, I know most of you are rny's here but I know by the way everyone has been so supportive that I can come here for all the support I need. Thanks everyone, will let you know when I have a date.  Waiting to join the loosers bench, Tracey

Tracey, good luck on your decision. People are different and the needs that they have are different. You are still one of us and we hope that you will be joining us on the losers bench soon. Keep us posted on how things are going and of course when you get the date on when your whole life is going to change for the better.

Congrats! I have the Lap-Band and am very happy with the results. Feel free to drop me a note whenever you have a question. My band was placed 5/05, I lost about 85 lbs (would have been more if my husband's illness didn't bring me to a screaming hault, not exercising at all lately and am at a standstill). But the band was the best for me too! I don't get a chance to check the board very often, so drop me a message and I'll reply when I stop back by! God Bless, this place is the best for support! Hope

Congrats on making a choice!  Obviously, people can be successful no matter their choice.  I've had my lap band almost 6 months now and am very happy with it.  Feel free to contact me if you wish.  And if you live close enough that you can attend support groups, I plan to go to the St. V group meeting next tuesday at 7pm.  If you go, be sure to find me!  Jessica

Thank you everyone for your kind messages, you don't know what it means to me to know I have you all to help me threw when I get my surgery.  How long does it take once the surgeon has sent my paper work to the insurance company? I asked Amy at Dr. Guptas when she has openings and she said she had some in June, do you think it could be that soon? I hope it is, now that I have done the six months and have finally decided on the surgery I can't wait to get going.  Thanks to you all here on the Indiana forum, your the best! Tracey

Thanks Jessica, I live about three hours north of Carmel in Elkhart, so that meeting would be to far, I wish I lived closer, that drive is a pain.  I will contact you once I have this done, I am sure I will have a ton of questions. Thanks again, Tracey
