Waiting on approval!!

I spoke to Dr. Mattar's admin today and she said all of my paperwork was sent off to Anthem for approval on 5/8. She said I might hear back within a week. Per her advice, I did call Anthem pre-cert and as of right now they do not show me in the system as receiving my paperwork. :( I am going to try and relax and assume it might take them a day or so to get it in the system. Any suggestions from those that are experienced with this? I definitely don't wan to be a pain in the rear with the insurance folks but I don't want to get lost in the system. Thanks!!!

i work for anthem and if they faxed it thursday you should be in the system no later then friday this week if they mailed it then look for a 2 week span before you are in system . i would try calling back on wednesday or thursday then starting friday call every business day , and just ask. if you off line me your id number and name i will keep an eye out for you

I have Anthem and follow up is the key.  I called every day for three weeks ( I am not exagerating) they keept saying they did not have it, and the dr keep saying they sent it.  The once they said well it was stuck in this limbo area and they said they would send it on to the right person, so I keep calling.... that right person never got it then Iwould have them sent it again, this went on and on and on.  I just keept calling till I got to the right person.  When I finally go to the right department, I was so determined not to call back that I sat on hold for 3 hours ( again I am not exagerating).  Finally when the right person picked up I explained to her what I all I went through, she was so nice and said she did not have what she needed but promised me she would call the dr office right then and get what she neded directly to her.  She said she woudl call me back the same day.  Ya right I thought.  Well low and behold she really did and said that she had everythign I needed and was approved.  I received the ltter two days latter.  She was awesome!  I stillremember her name Mary Francis. So I would just call and call and call if I were you to follow up.  I was very nice each time and just keep pushing forward.   Good luck!

I have Anthem.  Stay on them like a hawk.  If they are still saying you are not in the system on Friday, you want to talk to a supervisor.  Keep on that supervisor until you get your information.  Anthem lost my paperwor****il the benefits specialist talked to a supervisor.  It's amazing I was approved that next day.  The pre cert people will tell you anything to get you off the phone.  Stay on them and stay on them hard.

I AM NOT WITH ANTHEM BUT I WANTED TO TELL YOU TO HOLD ON!  I JUST GOT APPROVED LAST WEDNESDAY, AND I TELL YOU THAT  THE WAIT WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY!!!! HOLD OUT, BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, YOU WILL BE GETTING THAT APPROVAL! GOOD LUCK!!!!
