Does everyone think their surgeon is the best?
I'm just wondering because I think Dr. Diaz is the absolute BEST surgeon in the world! I know I've done a lot to make this successful but I give him a lot of credit too. He did a great job on my surgery. My sister had her surgery nearly 8 years ago and has had a lot of difficulty with it. I just think the changes in the procedure and the difference in surgeons are the reasons I'm not having the same problems.
What do you think?

Jacqui,
I think most of us feel like we had the absolutely best surgeon, hospital, and surgery type...and we did..they were the absolute best for us. There's alot of things that can contribute to post-op problems. Sure..the surgeon/surgery is part of it but so is compliance..and even more so, just the luck of the draw. My sister had RNY a year before me in Nashville TN (she lives in West Terre Haute but her insurance required her to go there). She recieved next to no post-care, no annual visits (and forget about post-3/6/12 months!), no post-op eatingWalking/drinking/vitamins instructions. Ta-da..there's your surgery, now go on your way and be skinny! Me? I had recieved all of that and followed each as closely as I could! And yet...who had the multiple strictures/ulcers/perforations...followed by a revision/internal hernias w/scar tissue? Yep, me! I try to consider it that it was better me to go through that than her..at least I didn't have far to drive! I've had problems just because. She's hasn't and has lost very well. Why? Luck of the draw. Shoot...if I ate & drank as she did/does, I would really be in a mess! At least I HOPE she has started taking vitamins by now.

I agree with everyone else here~my surgeon is the best one out there. lol Dr. Stanish started out being a ****y one to my thinking. I know now that he is just sure of himself. He is good at what he does and he knows it. He told me that he expected nothing less of me than he gives to me. He will be the best doctor for me that he can but he also expected/expects me to be the best patient that I can be. I am suppose to do what he tells me to do and I do. I figure why should you pay someone and not do what they tell you to do. That seems to be a waste of money to me. When I had the problem that I have had (which are nothing in comparison to some) he has been there for me and helped me through them. When I had kidney stones again he was there in the hospital checking on me. He is just a fantastic doctor and person. I have over the months that I have known him see a change in him. He has a great sense of humor and a very caring personality. So~yeah I think and know that mine is the best one out there~for me.
