Hi Jamie, So glad to see you on, how are you doing besides the draining problem?  Why did they do the upper GI? I am so curious how things went and how did you like Dr. Gupta for a surgeon?  Had lots of prayers going your way, I couldn't stop thinking about you on your surgery day. Take care, and let me know how you are doing, Tracey

Hi, I am glad that things are doing pretty good~and yes, you will stop draining. lol I promise. I never got to see my Harpo (I named it) when I got my upper G.I.'s. I named it Harpo after one of the Marx brothers. He was the quiet one but at times made noises. Just like my pouch does. lol Sometimes it makes so many noises it embaresses me. Sending you love and hugs and prayers for a good recovery.

Jaime, You will quit draining. LOL! Patience my dear, patience. A fews days can make a big difference. With my hernia (and the 3 drains I had from my plastics), they wanted the drainage to be less than 30 ml per day. It seemed like it took forever for it to get to be less than that. My thigh drains from plastics actually fell out while I was going through the coma stuff (the TT one came out with my tummy opened up). One of the thigh ones kept draining through the hole that the drain had been in. So..if the drain is removed too soon, be ready for lots of gauzes!                        How are you feeling other than that?  I would think it'd be cool to see your pouch.                         So..did you love Dr. Gupta as much as I do? I think a true measure of someone isn't always how well they do things right..but how well they handle it when things don't go right. She has just been wonderful for me...with me. And when she hasn't been in town, so has Dr. Cacucci. I truly owe both of these ladies my life. Sherri

Hi Sherri, I'm doing much better now. The drainage seems to be slowing down, thank goodness. Yes, as far as Dr Gupta goes, I love her. She was awesome with me and I felt totally safe in her hands.  She was right on top of any little thing for me.  I like the way she is very Professional and just says it as it is.... she the greatest. And the whole experiece with the Barit Unit, wow what awesome Nurses and Techs!! It was a wonderful experience. I'm doing great. looking forward to meeting you at one of the support meetings.... Hope all is well with you. Jamie
