I survived the drain pull

Well Dr Gupta is the most Awesome.  Went today got the drain pulled, feel so much better. best part is... I"m down 12#'s!!!

So happy for you.  I am relly dreading the drain, its the only part I am worried about.

I think its the thought of the drain more than anything... and if it saves from Complications, then I"d do it all over.. When is your surgery? Keep me posted. jj

Take a deep breath and hold it until it is out... it is about 7 seconds of YEOUCH!! but then you immidentaly feel 97% better and you all of a sudden know you are going to make it!!! Best of luck to you with your surgery and everything!! Linda Kay

That drain is such a nuisance.  Although the one I had with RNY didnt hurt as bad when my hubby pulled it out. I had one several years ago when I had my hysterectomy and it was the worse. It felt like they were pulling my insides out with it.  Sorry I hope this doesnt scare anyone.   I really think it was the nurse doing it that made it hurt so bad, cause she just pulled it fast and didnt even warn me. Congrats on your weight loss that is awesome.   

To me the drains were the worst. I kind of breezed through the surgery and the drains (mostly the right one) felt like they were super glued to my insides!!! Once they were out I felt much better. The one bad thing was the nurse kind of pulled it out slower than when they took out the drain for my gall bladder surgery. I think that is what made it hurt.
