Has anyone tried them?  Where did you get them?  I am looking for something different.  It seems like my taste buds are changing every few days, so I need some variety. Thanks Kim

When I went into GNC the other day the guy showed me some protein bullets. So gnc has them. I think they cost 3 dollars and some change.

But I have heard we can't take protein bullets because of the protein they have in them. Not sure the whole story maybe someone else can answer that for you. or you can google it.

The protein bullets are fine for post WLS patients.  Actually they are ideal for the new post op.  They are only 3 oz for 42 gm of protein.  They are kind of like a partially set jello in texture.  I think they are kind of strong in flavor but some people love them.  You can drink them cold as is, mixed with ice and water or the best way is mix them into SF jello.  Just substitute the bullet for the amount of water (3oz) and you get protein without being able to tell they are in the jello.  They are available at GNC, BariatricEating.com or the Vitamin Shoppe had them at one time.  Peg

I tried some at support group the other night.  They were called New-Whey liquid protein.  I tried it straight and it was kind of a syrup consistency and tasted very sweet to me, however I think I will like them a lot when it is mixed with water.  I'm still pre-op though so I know that makes a big difference.  Melissa

I used Profect the first two weeks out.  I didn't care for a couple of the flavors, but I could get 3 oz of just about anything down to get my protein in.  Unfortunately, at 2 weeks post-op I got a stomach bug and couldn't drink anything fruit flavored for almost 9 months afterward!  I know you can buy a sample pack (4 flavors) at www.profect.com for about $12.  That would be a good way to try them out.

My NUT told me yesterday in my class for post-op care that she would not recommend them to me and just because it says 42grams does not mean it is the protein we need.  Well, she was right because the whey protein is definitely not listed first in ingredients and that is the kind of protein we need.  Will you get protein? Yes, but no where near the 42 grams advertised.  Those are divided up between several different kinds of protein and some we will not even absorb or benefit at all from.

I will be 2 years out in July and I still use them.  I use the New Whey 42 Grams  I DO NOT drink them straight  I have a Sigg water bottle and I mix a little in with my water making sure both are really cold like ice water and it then tastes a lot like propel or vitamin water.  I normally search the internet for the best deals like free shipping because I live in the middle of no where.  But if you have a Vitamin Shoppe close I know they carry them.
