My Pump Is ALIVE!!!

Yesterday afternoon my tube to my pump started to irritate me.  I realized that it was being sucked into my stomach!!.  I called my surgeon's office and I don't think the Dr. on call  quite understood what was happening.  He said it was sutchered (sp?)  and might pull but wouldn't go anywhere.  OK, I'll tough it out until next week.  By 10:30 pm there were only 2 inches of tube left outside my body and it really hurt.  I called again.  This time he said this was very peculiar!.  He suggested I try to pull it out.  It wouldn't budge.  We decided to go the the emergency room in the morning. Went to bed with Lor-Tab.  Dreamt of tubes and blood.  Hubby called it a snake this morning.  We got up at 5, on the road by 5:30, got right in at St. V's by 6:30.  The admitting nurse looked at it and said she had never seen such a thing happen.  The next nurse asked to see it, when I pulled up my shirt she said, "Look! It's coming out!"  Sure enough, I looked down and It was coming out.  I said, "Quik, pull." She did and we got about 8 inches out - more normal!!.. The the ER DR came in - he was amazed also.  After consulting with WLS Dr., they decided to take it out.  It felt sooooo much better.  If this is my only comp[lication I'll be a happy LADY!!! Barb
