Good Saturday Morning

Good morning all! I get to post on a weekend. I had to be at work at 7am so I thought I would start todays post. Its not going to be the best weekend I thought afterall.  My youngest daughter that will be 13 in a few days is so sick. She was crying with her ears and throat last night and had a fever of 103 so after trying to hunt down a med center, which were all closed for the holiday weekend. I decided to take her to the ER. They found she has mono. So they gave her 3 shots in the ER and then sent her home with 2 scripts.  She was pitiful, I felt so sorry for her.  So pretty much everything we were going to do this weekend we probably wont be able to now since she is sick and cant be around anyone. But oh well! As long as she gets better. Maybe by Monday she will be better and we can go to that car show. So that is my weekend, taking care of my sick kid. Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend.

I wish I could stay home and relax  today, but I'm scheduled to work from 8:45am to 4pm. I want to take the kids to the festival at Fairbanks Park, here in Terre Haute tonight. That would be fun. I don't know... we'll see what happens.

Jenny, please tell your daughter that I said Get Well Soon.  Being sick sucks.   Hopefully the shots and meds will take care of her soon. Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend.  I have to work today and tomorrow, but I do have Monday off, so thats a plus!   Got some bad news yesterday afternoon.....but it turned into some fairly good news too.  As you have heard, my car has been in the shop on a daily basis.  Well, I took it back yesterday morning because the NEW new part was supposed to be in.....which it did come in just in time like it was supposed to........ANYWAY, the new part didn't fit correctly like the old one did, because they have re-adjusted the sensors on the engine intake valves, and the new ones didn't sit into the right place.  They would just fall out instead.  Meaning, they had bored the holes out too much, and nothing would help them fit in.  The garage manager called Ford Motor Company and asked them what the deal was.....they told him that is the way they all are now, and there was nothing they could do except buy another new part with the sensors built in.  Steve told them that he had already priced out the entire job, had already spent 3 days trying to fix the car, and was NOT going to charge me anymore just to get the car running again.  So, Ford had to "eat" the cost of the NEW new part, and it will be shipped to Evansville this weekend.....too bad it is a holiday weekend tho, because they won't get the part until Tuesday now.  On to the second part of the bad news....they put the car back together using the old housing, but since they had already removed the sensors once, the old ones wouldn't even stay in the proper holes anymore, and water would just pour out of the unit instead of being where it needed to be.  So, now I don't have my car, since it can't be driven at all.  It would crack the block, and ruin the engine if I drove it more than 1 block!  I don't think I want to risk that at all.  So, I was asking around about cars or even scooters to rent for the weekend, since I have to work.....uggh!  Because of the holiday weekend, and the Indy 500, every vehicle in the area has been rented and taken up there instead!  So, out of the kindness of her heart, one of our friends has graciously loaned me one of her cars to use until mine if fixed on Tuesday.  I will make it up to her, thats for sure!  I started crying in the casino when she told me that I could use one of her cars!  Talk about an angel!!!  She really is a lifesaver.   Ok, enough of me rambling on.  I have to get up and get going.  Errands to run before work.  Have a wonderful day all, and have a Safe and Happy Memorial Day weekend!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

LaChelle sorry to hear about your car! It is great that your friend had one to loan you! It is nice that your mechanic stood up to Ford for you! I didn't have as good of luck with my mustang! I wanted you to know that we made it home yesterday evening. I loved Tony the hairstylist! He is really good and so nice. He told me that he could maybe use Don to do some handyman work for him and a friend that has alot of rental property could maybe use him also. Good luck with that car. Have a nice holiday weekend and I will talk  to you later! Michelle J.

Thank you for the well wishes for my daughter. Its good something so crappy with your car turned into something not so bad.  That was sweet of your friend to loan you a car and nice of Ford to not charge you more.  You dont see businesses doing that much.

Good morning everyone!  Boy did it feel great to sleep in today! Even my body cooperated! LOL!                    Bill & I are thinking about maybe going to Kittley's Speedrome tomorrow. That's our kind of racing! Small track...figure 8! These guys are definately in it because they love the cmpetition..not for the money. It sure isn't nearly enough $ for the risks involved with the 8! hehe...see? That is why I'm not a figure 8 driver! LOL!                         Jenny..so sorry your daughter is feeling so bad. I remember when Tiffany had it. She was just starting 6th grade and back then, mono meant 6 weeks of no school. That poor kid was devastated! I do remember that pop cycles seemed to help ease the pain some. If she feels up to it, you might want to give them a try.                           LaChelle..how cool that your mechanic stood up against Ford! So do you have to pay the difference between the quoted & the new part or is Ford eating the entire cost? I know labor is the most expensive part of a repair, but every little bit helps..huh?  It's about time for your girls to go on their summer vacation to Grandma's, isn't it? My kids stayed with my sister for ~6 weeks when they were little while I tried to tie up lose ends from divorcing their dad. I was a nurses aide in a nursing home back then. I worked doubles 6 days a week. I think that was the only way I was able to go to sleep without them with me...shear exhaustion! It did allow me to get the bills from my ex all paid off so that the kids & I would be making a clean break financially..but man were those weeks hard without them with me. I slept with their picture with me. Since your girls are older than mine were (Tiff & Jay were only 3 & 18 months), it should be a little easier for you. Besides..they do this every summer, right? That was the first time I was ever separated from my kids...and just about the last! LOL! We are VERY close now.                  Well..whatever you do this weekend, enjoy & be healthy!             Sherri

Good morning everyone. I hope that today is good to each and every one of you. Jenny, please let your daughter know that I hope she feels better soon. It is terrible being sick and it sounds like she is really sick. I know that Mono can be terrible. I hope that she feels better soon and my prayers are with her.  LaChelle, that is such good news on your car. I know what it is like to have problems with them. They are such a important part of our lives. I wonder what they did before~but then again you don't miss something you don't have! :-)  I think it was wonderful for your mechanic to stand up to Ford like he did. You sure don't find many that would do that to a company like that. I am very impressed with him. That was wonderful for your gf to offer one of her cars for you to get back and forth until yours is done. God has blessed you with her. She is what I consider an earth angel.  Nothing much going on here. Bill is going to take my car over to our nephews for him to look at the back windows. They are having problems staying up. They keep sliding down and right now we have tape keeping them up~or maybe I should say trying to keep them up since it isn't working very good. :-) I think it is the motor but Bill and David are saying they think that the windows came off track. That would be good for me since then it would be cheaper to fix but why do I think it is the motors? That is more my luck. Getting ready for the cook out on Monday. Bill's cousin is coming over and Bill is cooking out on his new "wonder" grill. He is Mr Grill Man in the summer. He would live out there if he thought that he could! I am having steaks and pasta salad and grilled veggies. I thought that I would buy some potato salad for them since it would be a hassle for me to make it, and then I am getting some corn on the cob too. I am going to make banana pudding with the sf banana pudding, sf cool whip and sf vanilla wafers. I love that. Bill said to just buy a pie or cake and I told him that I would like some desert to. He just looked at me and got this sheepish look on his face and said that banana pudding would be good. He can be so infuriating at times! Better get going. I have some things I want to get done. I am debating on going to church in the morning or staying home and get some of the cooking done for Monday. I am not sure what I am going to do. Probably go to church because if I don't I feel guilty all week. :-) I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up. Special ones are being said for those who need them. Have a wonderful and springy day. The sun is wonderful, but a *****illy.
