Dumping from peanut butter?

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Last night I had a piece of white bread toast w/a little peanut butter on it.  Along with a small handful of generic corn chex pieces.   I then proceeded to spend an hour in the bathroom in misery.  Between trying to throw up and the cramps and diarrhea, I kept chanting... this is why I had this surgery - to feel the consequences of my actions.... but WHO'D of thought peanut butter would do this?  (I've eaten the cereal before) Thanks Lori

It may have been the bread, I can't eat it without it causing problems. Crackers i do fine with. I've had peanutbutter and it hasn't caused any problem. Who knows sometimes the pouch gets grouchey and you never know why. Good luck Cheryl

Hi my post-op papers say that if you don't  want to gain your weight back then peanut butter is something you should not eat. I don't know if that is because of the sugar or what. I had the same trouble with a bite of turkey so it may just be the person eating it. Michelle

I have tried peanut butter on 2 different occasions and both times I regretted the decision. I think they tell you to avoid peanut butter because of the FAT content it has.  I tried some on celery and I was just going to eat 2 tbsp which is a small serving size and it had protein. I got so sick that before I could get in 1 tablespoon I was in the bathroom barfing it back up. I had done the same thing with raw peanuts also, they made me heave my insides out. I never did have diarrhea though. Then on another occasion I put 1 tablespoon of peanut butter in a protein drink. I didn't heave it up but wish I had because my stomach hurt like no bodies business. So needless to say I have not tried peanut butter again. I was having the same kind of stomach pain when I ate something with a higher fat content (more than 5 grams per serving) however I noticed that lately I have eaten things with a higher fat content than I thought it had (then when I checked later it was high) and have not experienced that pain that I used to have. I think I might becoming accustomed to fat which is not a good thing.
