First consultation tomorrow with Dr. Evanson anyone else?

Hi everyone... I have my first consultation tomorrow with Dr. Evanson at St. Vs. I know it's a seminar first and then a consultation.  I am nervous but dh is going with me.  I am really thankful to everyone here and this website.  I am going in feeling informed and ready as can be.   Thanks everyone for sharing your stories.

What time will you be there? I see the dieticians at 10:30, and then Dr E at his office at 11:30. Good luck tomorrow!! Glad your DH is going with you; mine did too, even though he was adamantly opposed to the surgery.  The consult and one on one time with Dr E went a long way towards changing his mind.   Amy

I have to be there at 1:00.  My dh is supportive either way...he understands the medical necessity and risks....I guess  I am lucky there.  He is nervous but I think tomorrow will help.  I think we started at similar stats.... I am 5' 81/2" about 260-265... my bmi goes between 39 - 41 depending on the day.... I will eat a good lunch tomorrow to make it over 40 for the appt.

I do not see him tomorrow but I will be seeing him on 6/4/08 for my surgery.  When I went for my consultation he was very to the point (but I like that) so you will know what to expect from him and what he wants from you as a patient.  He is very knowledgable and knows what he is talking about.  My husband went with me and I asked him if he would ever do this surgery and he told me "NO".  He has an appointment with him on Friday to see if he can do the surgery.  Good luck tomorrow and I hope it works out for y ou.

Enjoy Dr. E - he is great and a talented surgeon (and very easy on the eyes).  Not a bad combination is it? You'll be in great hands if you decide to move forward with surgery.

Hi Misty, Thanks for asking. consult went well.  There were quite a few people there.  I have decide to start the process for the RNY.  I'm still nervous but I will have awhile to get used to it.  I have to get insurance approval first, I'm not sure if they will accept my previous 6mos diet or not.  The lady at St. V's said it is about 50/50 chance.  I have my physc. eval on 6/14.  I know they are running about 4 mos on scheduling right now so ... it will be atleast a 6 mos wait anyway.  I like Dr. Evanson...he is straight forward and I like that.   Hope your tummy problems have settled down..... you're an inspiration you know... I followed your story on SC and it helped convience me to learn more.  Thanks
