OT Miracle Ride for Riley Kids
Hi!
I did not go since my surgery was on Tuesday. But my mom and dad took both my boys! My brother and sister in law are big bike riders! And both of my boys are Riley Kids, with over 18 doctors and 11 surgeries total! :) My brother has been raising money for this every year since my 5 year old was born :)
And today my nephew (his son) WON the kid size 4 -wheeler!
And both my boys did come home with their tattoos too! Mom said they had a great time!

Leanne, that is so great! We stayed for the prizes and I am sure I know which one he was. Dad ran up there with him on his shoulder??? Cool that your boys had tattoos too. Girls really had a good time doing that. I'm glad there is such a great group of givers to help kids like your boys. Hope they are both healthy and doing good now. Keep in touch about your weight loss. I am still waiting to join the losers club but hope to get approved this month, Sherri
My hubby usually goes. He's gone the last 3 years or so, I think...but we didn't even realize the ride was today. We were out grocery shopping today and saw a group of people with their Miracle Ride shirts on and hubby wondered if he had missed the ride today. Bummer!! Two of my daughters have had surgery at Riley and all 3 of my girls still continue to see specialists at Riley. Can't say enough good things about them. Well, I guess we'll have to pay attention to the date for next year. Who know's, by then I may have lost enough weight to feel comfortable enough to ride with him for once!! Melissa
I have been a passenger in the Miricle Ride and I have ridden my own Harley in the ride but Yesterday I was taking my Harley to Southside to get fixed.. it is blowing a little oil and I am haveing a new improved Carb put on it...
Besides the surgery MommyLissa spoke of with my granddaughters.. I had a nephew who spent a lot of time there with his cancer... YEARS ago bikers (before I learned to ride) picked Ryan up at Riley and took him for a little ride and "adopeted" him by giving him his leathers and supporting him... they later escorted at his funeral and HAND buried him..The most beautiful funeral I have ever attended. The motorcycle federation donated his headstone..So I ask everyone anytime you see a biker... give him some room... he could be on his(or her) way to support a very worthy cause. Linda Kay
Yep, It is one of the reasons I am PROUD to be a Biker!! I have been riding behind my husband since 1973 but 6 years ago I learned to ride my own. I took the ABATE class ... in the rain no less, passed the test on 2 wheels and got my endorsement.. I had my surgery 3 years ago.. so much easier now to ride and so much more rewarding since surgery...
