Is Gatorade NOT ok?  I had my lap band on Tuesday and still am not even getting close to HALF my liquids yet.. not even close at all.  But gatorade has been tasting good so I have been sipping on it.  Then I thought.. hmmm its not sugar free!  And I still have yet to find a protein drink i can choke down!  I can't stand the SMELL or after taste!

My doctor says that Gatorade is ok for me to drink once in awhile, but mainly water, or Crystal Light, or decaf tea.  Of course, I am out far enough now that my doctor says that I can have diet sodas again if I want to, as long as it isn't but once in awhile.  My suggestion is for you to call your dr's office and see what they suggest.  Good luck

Gatorade, crystal light, broth, water and skim milk are all ok for you.  Although you don't want to go crazy on calories (ie milk shakes!) you don't have to worry as much about sugar content.  Afterall, I doubt you're getting too many calories a day right now.  Drink whatever goes down, that's my advice.

The new G2 gatorade is low calorie... it has the clear/white lid...   It is really good ...

Leanne I am 4 weeks out and still can't find any protein drink that I can stand! Also I am having trouble getting all my liquids in. As a matter of fact there has not been 1 day that I have gotten in my liquids. Everything I drink is too sweet! Sugar free popsicles and Crystal Light are totally out. I used to love them before the surgery and now I can't stand them. Good luck finding something as I am still looking!

Well i am glad to know that I am not the only one!  I bought a few more sample ones I am going to try today so we will see.  It just makes me nervous since they stress the protein drinks so much. To be honest I can guarantee I didn't get that much protein even before surgery!  I am one of those people that can eat the samething every day for breakfast lunch and dinner, and I wouldn't have a taste of meat until dinner time :) So I am sure I will be fine.  I just like to try and follow ALL the rules!  :)

Where do you get samples? I don't want to buy the ones in the stores because the jugs are huges and it would be my luck that I wouldn't like it, then I would be out 15 bucks. Let me know when you can where you get the samples, please.

Vitamin Shop had a few different sample packs of Whey Protein by Jake something.  One store I went in had them under the counter by check out and one had it back on the shelves. Some one posted a website where you can order sample packs like vitalady or something like that. I also just bought individual ready to drink ones to try too.  I am going to try a muscle milk one here in about 20 minutes so we will see how it goes :)

Try the G-2 it is lower in sugar and calories, and still has a wonderful taste. That is what I drink , and I buy it by the cases at Sam's club.
