Great idea Jodi!!  Here are my answers! 1.Post Op Only What new thing have you found out about yourself that you didn't know before since having WLS. I am much stronger (physically and mentally) than I ever thought I was 2. Where you named after anyone famous or a family member? In otherwords, is there a story to your name? My mom will tell you I am named after the witch on Bewitched.  Dad will say I am named after Peter Gunn's secretary on TV.  So either way, TV played a role! 3.What's the one advice (non WLS related) that you try to pass on to others? Don't forget to just breathe!!

Great news Jo on your being c-free!!!!! 1.Post Op Only What new thing have you found out about yourself that you didn't know before since having WLS. >>I guess I really didn't know how hard I was on myself.  Laughing with others about how big I was or how overweight I was.  I cried on the inside and laughed on the outside.  How sad!

2. Where you named after anyone famous or a family member? In otherwords, is there a story to your name? >>I was named after a neighbor who was extremely nice to my mother.  My parents came here from Tennessee and my mother really didn't have a lot of friends.  This lady was like my mother's mother to her at a time when she really needed someone.

3.What's the one advice (non WLS related) that you try to pass on to others? >>Love yourself.  If you don't, how can you expect any one else to?

Great idea! 1. Haven't had surgery yet

2. My name is Holly however there is no story behind my name. I was not born around xmas, I was born in June. My parents do no have a reason for naming me that.

3. Spend time with your family, one day they won't be there.

Thanks for the great post.  I have loved reading about everyone.  1) Since surgery I have been surprised to find out how narrow my frame really is.  I always thought I had very wide shoulders and hips but I really don't.  There was just lots of extra padding over those bones.  2)  Peggy was a popular name in songs at the time I was born and my mother chose it because she thought it was a cute name.  My nickname in school was pegaleg and it just kind of stuck.  3)  My frequent reminder, especially to my children is that "For every action or choice there is a consequence; a consequence to enjoy or a consequence to endure." Can't wait til next Wednesday! Peg

Hi, Jo, I am so happy for you!!!!  I am jumping on board late ( Thrus. am.) since things have kept me busier than a bunch of bees on a warm June day!  1. I enjoy wearing colors & trying on clothes.I no longer hide in clothes 2 times bigger than I am. 2. Ellen- My aunt was killed right before my birth (my Dad's older Sister) so they decided to name me after her. Of course I was my grandparents favorite!  Marie- My Mom always loved that name(one of her patron saints), so I'm Ellen Marie, but go by Ellen. 3. Remember who you are & WHO'S  you are- GOD"S child!!! Your self worth isn't based on what your size is, what you look like, how much you own/make, where you can from, but ~by the fact you are a precious child of God. (((((hugs))))) Ellen

Hi All, I'm just getting a chance to catch up on the posts.  This is a great idea Jodi.

1.  That I'm worth the effort of taking care of myself.                  2.  My mother wanted to name me after my two grandmothers (DellaRe from Rodella and Reba).  Luckily for me, my dad took one look at me in the hospital and said "She looks like a Cindy".  I have the same problem as Jan though, people always think it should be short for Cynthia, but it is just Cindy.                3.  Get to know and the REMEMBER your own worth!

This is a blast! I especially love it because I am new to this board.  You truly are a great group of people.  So here goes... Post op-  It's only been 10 days but the first lesson I have learned is walking is great exercise for the body but the bonding experiences with my family and friends that happen during the walks mean the world to me. My name-  Ok, well, I am the the seventh of eight children and my 4 big sisters were left to name me because my mom and dad were out of girl names.  So my oldest two sisters were teenagers and they loved to listen to records, the real ones... little black round kind.. you remember them right?  Well, the beatles had a hit named Michele so that became the middle name.  Then there was a freaky little song that was a huge hit but the group name escapes me.  It was called Tracy and all I can remember growing up was them singing it to me over, and over, and over again.  It was probably the reason I was crying.. not the way to make me stop.  LOL.   Advice-  Love with all your heart no matter what.  In all relationships you have to give all the love you have.  If someone rejects it... its on them, not you.  Dont hold back and have no regrets. And in all things give God the glory... he's an awesome God and loves you without holding back. Thanks, Tracy
