Hi everyone,  " This has been a difficult day for us. We attended the funeral of our old friends son, & it was so sad. He had so much depression for years, & never got the help he needed after his dad died- of suicide. I was so impressed when his youngest sister read a poem she'd wrote, and said " the cycle stops here- whatever it takes, our family is going to get the help it needs to break this curse on our family". Oh, all the photos of when we all hung out together when they were children just brought so many sweet/sad memories back. This was harder than when his Dad Ron had committed suicide, in so many ways. We stayed for the service but didn't go to the graveside. It was a wonderful service, and one of the things stood out to me- "Satan is a deciever & lier, & who knows what he was whispering to Ronnie /how much he was tormented for years. Now, he is in the arms & saftey of God, no longer in anguish & pain."Please pray for the girls(Dawn & Melanie)& their families,as they are so hurt, mad,& feeling a horrible loss again."   Today was another reality check for me. I have been going thru a rough patch of depression for months now, and have hid it. No more. I blogged about it on my profile, in case anyone wants to read it. I have used so much as an EXCUSE to do want I want- play in the playground of food! No more! Today gave me a real sense of how important it is to be real, to let others know what I am going through, and to stop putting on the smiling face so others THINK I am ok! I have felt sorry for myslef long enough. Thank God I woke up today knowing there was light at the end of my "tunnel" If you are struggling, it is ok to share it, and let it go, plus a huge relief!!! I know!  ((((((hugs)))))) Ellen

Ellen, your post here has really touched me. I just wanted to let you know that I am keeping you in special prayers. Things happen in our lives that sometimes throw us for a loop. I just want you to keep in mind that you are loved here very much and not to forget that. You mean a lot not only to me but to many others here. You are always one of the first people to offer support and love and caring to anyone who needs it. For that we are eternally grateful. Just remember that we will do whatever you need for us to do. Remember to take care of yourself and know that you have to come first to yourself. I have figured out that if you don't give time for yourself you will have nothing to give to others. It is kind of like a well. If the well isn't replenished it will eventually go dry. We don't want that to happen to our Ellen. Know that if you ever need me for anything I am there for you just as you have been for me. My number is in the directory and you can always pm me anytime. I am sending you lots of love and plenty of hugs. You are also remaining in my prayers. Many times things happen in our lives so that we are able to see things as they are. God is telling you something while you are going through what has happened to you friend. Now is the time to figure out what is being told to you and stay open to answers that God is telling you. I will continue to pray for you on this too. Know that you are loved a lot, Ellen.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Ellen I am so sorry that you and your friends family have to suffer through this loss.  Suicide is such a tragedy and so hard for us to understand.  May God be with you and yours during this difficult time. Jeannie
