Sunday, Fathers Day
Good morning, and Happy Fathers Day to all on our board! We are really thankful to have you with us here!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday evening when I got home. I took a bath and went straight to bed........something about being up for 36+ hours makes you tired! LOL On the best note of all tho, we did raise a grand total of $64,948.94 for the Orange county Relay for Life for the ACS!!! I am so proud and happy for all the teams that were involved! It was an awesome relay, even if we did have to be indoors for the first half of it due to severe weather. We moved everyone outdoors yesterday morning, and that really brightened up the spirit of everyone still there! I am taking today off of Relay stuff, and then starting to work on next years event! That is the life of a committee memeber!
I am headed to work now, so have a great day! Enjoy it with all the Fathers you know, even if they aren't yours! I miss mine every day, so to me. every day was Father's Day with him! Love you, Dad!
Gotta run! TTYL!

Good morning and Happy Fathers Day to all our dad's on the IN board. I hope that you have a special day surrounded by those you love and hold close to your heart.
The birthday party went well yesterday except there was several who didn't show up. The birthday girl had a blast and by the end of the party was in the arms of her great grandma (my aunt) and was out for the count. I had a nice afternoon and enjoyed visiting with those family members I haven't seen for a while. It was the first time that some have seen me since surgery. They just couldn't get over the change. Some kept telling me that I was so tiny and I know that just isn't true! They couldn't get over my legs. I inherited my dad's chicken legs and no butt so those I know is small. lol Someone told me that I could get my excess skin (first they asked me if I had any!!! HAHA! I have enough to give enough for a gazillion people new bodies!!!) and then said that I could have it put in the back and get a butt. I said no thanks since I have an aversion to pain. I will go without one thanks! On a whole they were pretty surprised. Some said that if my mom was here to see me she would be so surprised and so proud of what I have accomplished. I wanted to cry. I know that my parents never saw me thinner. I know that they are looking down and smiling.
Today is just a day that is going to be spent here at home. I am glad about that. Today is Bill's last day of vacation and tomorrow it is back at the old grindstone. He is ready to go but the other part of him doesn't want to go. Can't say that I blame him. He went fishing last night and had a good time. He does love to fish that is for sure. I am thinking about taking him out for dinner for Father's Day. If left to his son that wouldn't happen. Shawn did call yesterday~the first time in over a week. But that was the first time he called in several weeks. To me he is just worthless but then again no one asked my opinion. lol
The sun isn't out today but it looks nice. It is kind of overcast but no to bad. I guess it is suppose to rain today but then again what is new? I hope that it doesn't because we have all had enough of that stuff. It is time to be on to something new and different. Like sun! I am sure there is several out there that would agree with me.
I guess I better get going. Bill is up now and I want to spend time with him. I hope that you all have a great and wonderful day and get to spend time with your dad's~even if it like me and just in thoughts and memories. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone~special ones for those in need.
Good morning! Happy Dad's day to all the Dad's out there!
I told the Dad of our home that I'd take him out to eat where-ever he wanted to go. Unless he has changed his mind, we're going to Mi Amigo's so he can get their taco salad. Talk about a cheap date! LOL! Now, I just hope his daughter calls to wish him a Happy Father's Day. She's not real good at stuff like that....but then, neither is he so I guess she does get that honestly.
Jodi...I got the RSVP all ready to send out in the mail Monday. Do you have an exact adress for the Eagles? I'll be putting it in Tom-Tom and letting him tell us how to get there...one of the few times I don't mind being 'told where to go' by a man!
I tried the female voices on there and trust me, when they say 'turn around' you can't help but to think 'man, what a ******!'. LOL! Remember to all holding a RSVP card...Jodi would like to have them sent back in by June 30th..and shoot, she did put a stamp and the address on the envelope so what would it take...5 seconds to fill out the card?
LaChelle...Fantastic job!!! What was the distance you personally did?
Gail...I sent you a note through here. Just talking about the trips coming up...Holiday World & the camp-out...is so exciting!! We are going to have so much fun! Did you see the other thread about Holiday World? Sherie had replied that there is a restaurant called Buffalo Run that we may want to check out Thursday night for dinner. It serves buffalo meat & ostrich eggs! I'm sure it would probably have a grilled chicken salad if you aren't one to try less common meats. I KNOW you like grilled chicken! LOL!
Oh..we got the boys hair cut yesterday. Bill did very well holding RJ (the 2 yr old) while his was done. I was more proud of him than the little guys I think! LOL! Afterwards, we took them to DQ for their 'treat'. It's a Mamaw thing. Chance is 7, and I've taken him (and his siblings) for every one of their haircuts. Afterward, we always do lunch. I got them some DQ sandwiches for them to share with their sister & cousin at home. I also couldn't pass up a box of 'no sugar added' Dilly bars for at home! Remember folks..I am 3.5 years out and I am trying to keep pounds from falling off me with this diarrhea. They have: 190 cal, 13 g fat (pretty high...so no beef on the days I enjoy one!), 5 g sugar, 10 g sugar alcohol.
Well..have a good day today everyone! Sherri ps...Bill changed his mind! Gail...I'll be giving you a call. He'd like to go to Steak & Ale. Sounds good to me! LOL!

Lisa,
That's the wonderful thing about this board & the daily thread. It makes me look at my life and find SOMETHING that is worth passing on to others every day! Even if it's 'waiting on the doc to call'..it's still a way of me looking back and saying 'okay, my life was NOT a total waste yesterday!' Woo-hoo!'. LOL! And yeah..might as well try to have some fun in life!
I think pulling together a memory book is pretty cool too!
sherri
ps..I can totally relate to 'little girl's Heaven'! I love shopping at Christmas cause I get the best of both worlds. My grandkids are boys: ages 7 & 2 (LOVE those little bow ties & bomber jackets!!) and girls: ages 2.5 & 4 (aren't the little dresses & shoes adorable????).
