got approval letter from insurance and it has date for surgery!
Hi, everyone I got my approval letter from the insurance company today and it has a date for inpatient stay, Initial Request start date 22-jul-2008 end date 22-jul-2008 description lap, place gastr adjust band. then it said initial approval and has the same date. So is this my surgery date? I haven't got a call from Heather yet. I emailed Amy earlier today and she said that Heather just got my chart Friday, so I would hear from Heather this week. I don't know what to think! Tracey
Tracey,
Heather will call you with your surgery date. It usually takes her 1-2 weeks to contact you after she receives the letter of approval so be patient.

Amy said she got the letter of approval two weeks ago, but just got my chart Friday, don't understand that. I have been waiting to have surgery since October, I did the 6 month diet thing, and then had change in insurance and Amy said I wouldn't have had to have the 6month diet with my new insurance. So I am just getting a little figity here waiting, I don't know what I will be like when I do get my date, its been so long I sometime wonder if it is ever going to get here. Ask my husband, Patients is my middle name, lol. Thanks tho
Tracey,
I do understand. I was on a 2.5 yr supervised diet when I frist tried. Got denied (Mplan). Got denied at the appeal. I waited until that December to switch to Anthem. Info was sent to them the next year. So total..it was ~4 year wait for me to have it. Once you do get your date, time will fly by while you are waiting for it to get here. Congrats on your approval. Sherri, Oh my gosh, I would have been crazy by then. I know they say when you think you have it bad someone else has it worse. Thanks for reminding me it could be worse. I am hanging in there. I have my phone with me everywhere I go in my house! I am at least glad I was told it would be this week. Thanks, Tracey
