Sandra,
I'm assuming you are talking about the Kinky Bowel Syndrome (KBS). Yeah...common enough among post-ops that we have a nick-name for it! LOL! The intestines..because they don't have the fat holding them in place anymore start moving around freely and can get pinched when they push inward. This is technically referred to as an internal hernia. After awhile, they'll move some more and 'un-pinch' themself and the pain will go away....until they happen to get pinched again. for me, the frequency of pain got closer & closer in time the longer it went on. Surgeons were having a cat scan done when patients would complain of pain but unless the intestine was pinched at the time the scan was taken, it wasn't picking up on it. It didn't mine...and if memory serves me correctly, I had either 2 or 3 'internal hernia's' plus one area of scar tissue. At each of the hernia places, they put a couple of well-placed stitches to prevent the intestine from being able to push through there. I had an easier time recovering from this than I did my RNY or revision. I hope Tiffany is as fortunate.
Please tell Tiff we're thinking about her!
