To all Elfster participants....

Sherri...thanks for checking into this. I was just surprised to see it when I logged on. I like to get on periodically and check to see if my pal has added anything to her wish list.....always helps with picking up those little gifts! I hope this get this cleared up.......thanks again!

I just checked it, too. To me it looks like the work of a hacker. Looks like someone has hacked into their sysytem. Is there anyway to let Elfster know that this is on there? Wow, that is someone with alot of free time on there hands and obiviously no life.

I had sent Elfster the above note. I should hear back from them today or tomorrow.

I just received the following e-mail:

At Elfster we continually strive to improve the site based on feedback from our dedicated users.  In an attempt to do that, we released an update to the site last Thursday.  Unfortunately, at that time, an inappropriate message which has no place on Elfster was missed by our quality assurance tests and made it onto the Elfster site. 

We have been able to identify you as one of a small group of people that might have been exposed to this message.  I want to apologize to you and I would like to assure you that I have taken steps to make sure this will never happen again.

I greatly appreciate the immediate feedback that we received from our concerned and loyal users.  By being notified as soon as possible, we were able to resolve the issue promptly.

Sherri:

Please accept our apologies as well.  This was never meant to be on our site and we completely agree that it is offensive, and not at all what we want Elfster to be about.  I had this fixed this morning- I had not checked email over the weekend, or we would have fixed it sooner.  I appreciate you letting us know about this so that we had the opportunity to remove it.  I hope that you and your family will have fun using Elfster, and can assure you that you should not see anything like this again.
