Monday, Monday
Saturday I got a lot of shopping done. It was so much fun to be scooting around from store to store and actually having the energy and the ability to do it. I used Sam's to get some extra walking in. I went up and down every aisle while pushing the cart. I can recall the days where I had to go directly to what I needed in a store because that's all I could walk. What a difference WLS has made in my life.
My daughter and I played Bingo then on Sat. night and I remembered why I quit playing last winter...I never win! The place that we play, let's you play for free within a week of your birthday. Micah's birthday was last Thurs. and mine is this week so we both got in for free. I guess we'll see them again next year at this time and try again. hahaha
Finally got through all the wash yesterday.
Today is Day 6 on the Patch. So far so good. I have not smoked since 9:30 last Monday night. I still want one, but the horrible cravings are gone...thank God. The first few days were pretty rough.
Hope you all have a great week. Prayers to all of those who are under the weather and to those who are having surgery this week. Hugs to all. Karen
Karen... that's great about no cigarettes! I know it's so hard to quit, but you will be so much healthier for it.
Yesterday I got up and went to church. Took Maggie with, and dropped her off at religious education before going on to work. (Mike picked her up.). She seemed to have a good time of it. She was so proud when I told the organizer (because yesterday was the first day of classes) that she was actually a kindergartener, and not a preschooler this year.
Saturday was my sister-in-law's bridal shower that I gave her. I think it went well, and that she had a good time. We had a good showing of people there, so that was nice. IT was a beautfiul day for it, which made me very happy, because we had it outside at a park. (Deming Park, here in Terre Haute.)
Today is another work day. But I can relax this evening. That will be good. But we're having a staff meeting at work today. I hate staff meeting days. They are always soooo loooong. I have a hard time sitting in a place for that long. Otherwise I wouldn't mind them.
Hugs,

Good morning all...it sure is chilly these last few mornings. Guess I need to bring my houseplants back indoors, I see its gonna get into the 40's overnight tomorrow. I hate to bring them back inside as they are getting so big they take up a lot of valuable space. We had sort of a boring weekend hung out around the house for the most part. We did go to Greenwood on Saturday to take my son to look at drum sets. He has decided he wants to play the drums ..anyone know of a use set for sale? While we were out we did find a place for him to take lessons though.
I have finally went down a size in my clothes. I have been dieting since Jan...whew that took forever. Hopefully the next size won't take nine months lol. I am disappointed that I am going to be a slow loser even after surgery, but at least the scale is moving in the right direction. I see my surgeon and nut this Thursday so anxious to hear if they have any suggestions for me.
Prayers are with those of you needing them today, and hugs to each of you.
Jeannie
33 lbs lost prior to surgery!
Good morning all!
I've been at work since 5:30. I hope this day goes by quickly. I slept ok last night but I could have used a few more winks I think. I always feel that way when I wake up during the night...and I woke up twice last night.
I'm meeting a couple of old co-workers for lunch today. We're going to Shapiro's. The should be nice. We love catching up on each others lives. Since they both were in my department, they'll be curious about the changes taking place here. I, on the other hand, know next to nothing about either of their departments. I think tonight for dinner Bill & I are going to go to Four Season's (Shadeland). I've had a taste for bean soup. Bill won't eat it until winter hits so no sence in me making a pot just for me.
Karen...I'm so proud of you for it being almost a week! Way to go girl! I think the hardest thing for me when I quit was what to do with my hands! I was so use to using them to hold the ciggarette. I'm sure you're finding creative ways of filling that void.
Jeanie...I wouldn't call a 50 lb weight loss...and just having surgery 2 weeks ago as losing 'slow'. I think you are doing fantastic! It always takes forever to drop that first size. After that, it happens much more rapidly. Congrats on the excellent job!
Hope you all have a good day!

My weekend was busy as well. Saturday we went to SilverTowne and I sold some jewelery I dont wear anymore that I have for years, then we went to eat. I had some problems with that. I got a grilled chicken breast, cottage cheese and side salad. The pouch didnt agree with the chicken I guess. I had to run to the bathroom. After that, we went to thegrocery store and then went home. Then I painted my bathroom.
Sunday we went to church. My youngest daughter started going with her friend a couple Sunday's ago and went to the alter and decided she wanted to get baptized. So we all went yesterday. I believe we are going to start going to that church.
I havent told anyone this but my DH, but over the weekend I found a lump in my breast. I am hoping its nothing cause its really sore. I was told before that if they are sore it usually means its nothing. So I am going to call the doc today and get in. So please keep me in your prayers that this is nothing.
I will keep you all posted.
Everyone have a great day.
Karen...great job on quitting...I know its a hard habit to quit...you can do it!
Linda....have a good day at work..hopefully the meeting will run short!
Sherri...as always...enjoy your day and your time with friends.
Jenny...Lots of prayers to you...I went through this last month so all I can say is stay positive!
Vicky...keep up the good work...look how much you have lost girl! WOW!!!!
Jeanie....congrats and keep at it! You are losing..thats the point!
To all else.....Enjoy the cooler weather...here comes fall......
I am on nights this week (blah) That means late nights for me and sleeping in til 930. I always feel like I am out of the loop when I work nights. But now that we are slowing down I am gettign out around 11:00 insteaD OF MIDNIGHT so hopefully I can get to bed earlier.
Busy morning this morning, Tyler gets his stitches out at 11:30. I get to see my PCP DR. Lynch for the first time since a couple months BEFORE surgery. I can't wait. I have been BLESSED that I have been complication free and have had no reason to see my DOC in 6 months. How awesome is that.:)
I am hoping today that I will be in the 150's. I am really starting to SLow down. Atleast give me a pound or 2 a week for Goodness sake. I still have 30 pounds until my goal and I can tell its going to be a long road. I just don't know if my body will let me get that low. I have a feeling it will stop were it wants to and I guess that is where I will stay.
Good luck to all with surgeries this week and upcoming surgeries. Gail is it Plastics that you have in OCT? How exciting if it is.
Sherri: I hope you are feeling better. I am thinking about you all the time. Praying they find you an anwer.(okay the right answer)
Everybody have a great Monday.....talk to you later

I MY RNY!
Karen: I see tomorrow is your birthday. I'm wishing you a happy (smoke free) Brithday today in case I don't get the chance tomorrow.

Jenny: I'll keep you in my prayers that it is nothing bad.
We had a jam packed weekend. Friday night we went out to my DH's fav place. Mexican.
I got a chicken quesadilla. I only ate 1 section of it but it had jalipenios on it and my tummy did not like it. I burned all night and most of the day Saturday. Saturday was a farm work day. We have our big annual party next weekend so we were busy cutting weeds, painting, washing. Just trying to make the place presentable. Sunday was another busy day. Our church is looking for a new minister so we had to have a "reflection" day yesterday. Basicly a big whole church meeting to see what we are looking for in a new minister. After the service we had a dinner for everyone and then discussions. My DH is an elder and volunteered us to do the chicken. We had two grills going and grilled chicken from 8:30 to 11:30. 130 pieces of chicken and 50 hotdogs.
I was still smelling chicken when I went to bed last night. When we got done at church (2:30)
we went to his office to borrow some tables and chairs for the party next week. We carried 3 large tables and 30 chairs up from the office basement. When we got home it was time to prepare dinner. OH yeah, DH had invited friends for dinner. We had tacos, so I had to cut up veggies and cook the meat. I was so wasted last night. It will be worse next week after the party is done. Having the party is fun, but so much work. I'll be glad when it is over.
all have a good day!
Congratulations on 6 days smoke free!!! I think that's harder than not eating!!! I smoked for 30 years and quit 2 months before my surgery. Now I can push mow the yard without coughing a lung up! My DH said if I never lose another pound, he doesn't care...the surgery made me stop smoking!
Keep up the great work!!
