TGIF!!!! It's Friday!!!
Not much going on here, just work like always. Tonight, after work, we are going to try to make it to Salem, where Lee Ann lives, and go to the Settlers' Days festivities. It sure does sound like fun, and I want the girls to enjoy it. I haven't told them, so it will be a surprise to them if we do go! Keep your fingers crossed!
Have a great day! TTYL
You only have one life to live, but if lived right, it's the only one you need!
Good morning to all the hoosier losers. Not much going on in my neck of the woods. My grandson will be down tomorrow to celebrate his birthday. I am gonna let him have a fire and hot dogs. I think most all little boys love a campfire and boy do we have the sticks now after the big wind last week.
I am really looking forward to the clothing exchange. My clothes are getting way too big and I have been having to wear two pairs of pants one from Goodwill and one from my neighbor. I just can't see buying new clothes to not be able to use them shortly. I can't go shopping in my closet like I see a lot of women talk about because I have been the same size for over 5 years and have weeded out everything that didn't fit.
I think I may have a temporary job...more on that later lol.
Jeannie
33 lbs lost prior to surgery!
It sure is a chilly one this morning. My bones are even cold. I just dont know what I am going to do this winter. I guess I will have to wear layers...lol.
Im at work, working a double today.....16 hours. Wished I got overtime, but I guess that is part of being the boss. Oh well!
Nothing much going on this weekend. Anything going on close to the Muncie area that anyone knows of?
How far is Salem from Muncie does anyone know?
Thought if it wasnt too far I might go to that Settlers Festival but if its over a couple hour drive then probably not, gas is just to high.
Well you all have a great day!
Happy Friday!!! I am going to have a good day, I hope. It started off well. I got up on time, walked with the dog, made some boiled eggs (whites) for breakfast, along with cottage cheese and a little fruit. I know I've made it to my goal, but now I feel like I could lose a few more pounds, just to be solidly 'normal' and not just on the edge of normal. I think I'm going to readjust my goal to 135. I think I could make it there.
I am really excited about the weekend. Mikey has his second football game, and Maggie has testing for her next belt in tae kwon do. She's still a white belt right now. I think Saturday will be fun, even though we're kind of broke.
It turned out the car needed some new hoses, which, while it left me broke for the week, did atleast turn out to be something I could get done. The bad part was tomorrow is my Dad's birthday, in Hammond, and I won't be able to afford to go up there. Wah!
Speaking of Dad, he's having an angiogram today, to check on his heart. Keep him in your prayers if you are a prayer, please. He just retired and I want him to be able to enjoy it. I hope he doesn't have anything serious wrong with him.
Well..other than working from home for ~1 hour, I'm off today. I put some stuff on my flash drive and that's more than enough to keep me busy. I probably won't do it till tomorrow though.
I got a very pleasant surprise yesterday. I had emailed my pcp about my frustrations with the GI appointment at IU not being until Dec. 5th. Well..her office gave them a call and it was moved to...TODAY! Woo-hoo! To top it off, the doctor was changed too so instead of someone that I won't be able to understand, I'll be having someone who English is their first language! Yay! I am SO glad I don't have to wait for 2.5 months with nothing being done! So..I need to tape up all my boo-boo's (belly & leg) , shave my legs, and get in the shower. And then I'll probably work on getting my meds list, etc printed off. This dang LAN won't let me print half the tiime. It's so frustrating. Bill has no problem with it but I do...

Let's see..other good news from yesterday:
*Dr. Gupta's office is going to go ahead and send me the script for my 4 yr bloodwork check so I can get it done the same time I have to get some done for my next endocrinologist check-up (10/16).
*I'd been fighting with MidAmerica Blood labs about a submission from bloodwork back in January. It was submitted with the wrong code so Anthem denied the claim. They FINALLY resubmitted it with the right code! I jumped their butt because they turned it over to a collection agency. Ticked me off! Here I had been calling them, faxing them, mailing them, and even the doctor's office had called them about it! I did everything I could do to get it taken care of. They were the ones who sat on it. Grrrr!!! So maybe this will finally be taken care of.
So-so news:
*Our lab group will be moving into the other lab area (different building..with people who are pigs!) the last week of October. None of us are thrilled with the move but gotta do what we are told to do. On the plus side, my group will all be getting larger desk areas so that is good. Actually, each of us will have our own office cubicles rather than just desks stuck at the end of a lab bench so that part is good to me. Although..my boss is a little irritated because the group that is there already made sure each of them have all of the bigger, nicer, cubicles. I'm not greedy. I don't need 8 times the space when I'm already increasing it by at least 4-5 times over what I have now.
*My boss put me as the point person for several of the things with the move. If he isn't it, I am pretty much. That's fine. With me on 'desk duty' right now, it'll give me a break from verifying data.
Not good news:
*Bill does have to have another eye surgery. They have to replace the donor cornea in his eye. I was relieved that they don't have to replace the artificial one. Your cornea consists of several layers. Even with the artificial one that Bill has, you still have to have some human layers there too. The human layers is what gave out and is making it hard for Bill to see & get around. The really bad thing was they didn't have a Tuesday open until the end of October! The scheduler is going to talk with Dr. Price & see if he'd be willing to do it on a Wednesday or Thursday so it can be done sooner. If Bill has to wait another month, he'll be walking into way more than just the microwave cart!
*This weekend, I HAVE TO get this tax thing figured out. Of course, I need my printer to behave in order to do this too.
I'm glad Gail heard from Brenda R. I was getting worried about her. I can certainly understand life keeping you busy though. Let's all keep her in mind when you say your prayers..k?
I hope everyone has a really good day today!!

So glad it's Friday. Don't know how much longer I can work my four 10's and have Friday's off. I sure look forward to them. We are approaching our busy season at work plus I have been referred for some other jobs. But, things change and we have to change with them.
Meeting some ladies from church for lunch at Red Robin in Clay Terrace today. We have been meeting at Starbucks on Friday mornings and last week someone suggested we meet for lunch for a change. My DIL and I usually share something. I need to get over to visit my SIL at Community East's stroke unit this weekend too. She has come a long way from May. I am so glad for her. She proves prayer works!
Lee Ann and Lachelle, I hope you enjoy Settlers Day. We went a couple of years ago and had a ball. I love looking at all the crafts and wishing I had the talent (and mostly patience) to do things like that.
Jeannie, have a great time with your grandson on his birthday. I'm sure he will enjoy the cookout.
Jenny, I know what you mean about the cold. I have been thinking about pulling out my thermal shirts already. It stays cold year round in the office so I always have a jacket or sweater handy. The past few mornings I was ready for a winter coat.
Linda, hope your dad's angiogram turns out well. I'm sure he'll understand about your not being able to come up for his birthday.
gscwford, Congrats on the new house. I know you are excited to be finally moving in.
Sherri, Good luck at the GI appointment today. Let us know what's going on. Sorry about Bill having to have another eye surgery, will they let you know if they can move up the surgery or is it pretty well set that nothing is available sooner. You both are in thought and prayers.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Be safe.
Julie
The scheduler is suppose to call is if they can move Bill's surgery up. Really, it sounds like it's up to Dr. Price. He does graft surgeries on Wed., Cataracts on Thursdays and everything else on Tuesdays. Since Bill's is lumped into the 'everything else' catagory, it's up to Dr. Price if he's willing to do it on another day besides a Tuesday. I also told her that if they get a cancellation, we can go with a 24 hour notice. It's a good thing I have a great boss and a flexible work schedule, huh?
