I lurk here but don't post too much.  This is a great group of people!  :-)

Anyway - I had my RNY with Dr. Huse on 9/9/08.  My first appointment with him post-op is on 10/1 (3 weeks after surgery).  My questions:

Will he discuss a goal weight with me (we have not spent much time together so far so this has not happened)

What else happens at the appt besides weighing and making sure healing is good - anything?  Is there any reason I could not drive to it alone, it is a 3.5 hour drive.  That would mean 7+ hours of driving that day but it is either alone or with hubby and a 1 yr old and 3 yr old....

I will also see the dietician - I am keeping a log, I know they will look at that and assume they will discuss future changes/additions?

Thanks in advance!!

Will you be released to drive by that time? I think if you are it should not be a problem to drive yourself. I would ask him about a goal weight. I have my own goals... Dr. Inman never told me a specific goal weight.

THe dieticians will talk to you about intake and vitamins and fluids/water and all that good stuff. They will weigh you too.

The paperwork I have says you can drive when you are off pain meds and pain-free.  I am not taking a lot of pain meds now so I am sure I will be off them - NOT sure if I will be pain-free, though, lol.  But it will be minimal, I hope.

Thanks!!

That's cool. Mine probably said that too, but I didn't remember. It's been almost 2 years. I certainly hope you are pain-free by then!
